it all begins with a little curiosity.

Question - Research - Innovate - Make a Difference.

Portrait by Joaquin Ugalde

I am the inaugural Mancosh Postdoctoral Fellow of Communication Studies within the School of Communication at Northwestern University.

As a communication scientist, my research focuses on the areas of AI@Work, the sociotechnical negotiations between algorithms and their users, and bridging bias and inequality within technology design and adoption. My recent scholarship takes an ethnographic lens to study how experts negotiate robustness and equity when working with smart technologies and algorithms to make decisions.

My work has been published in various international journals and proceedings, and I frequently present my latest thinking at academic and professional meetings in communication, information, and management.
