If you kill a spider, it’s going to rain

I Ching Reading

April 25, 2021, 4pm – 5pm (PST)

The I-Ching is an ancient Chinese text and divination practice in which practitioners ask specific questions and throw coins to determine their fate.

In keeping with If you kill a spider, it's going to rain's themes of chance, destiny, and superstitious ritual, FOCA will host an I-Ching reading with expert David Roden and the artists of this exhibition.
The artists have come up with questions about their work and have thrown their coins at home: What can I learn from the artwork I made for this exhibition? What is the meaning of my artwork? Roden will review the results of these coin throws and share the wisdom of the I Ching during this zoom event.

Please join us on Sunday, April 25th at 4pm PST for a lively discussion about the work in this show and the practice of I Ching as a whole.
