How much will it cost?
Determining the final budget for your project involves considering numerous factors. These may include the music style, the number of songs, the complexity of each song, your recording expectations, and any requirements for additional musicians. Our aim is to deliver top-notch productions at reasonable prices, and we're always available to discuss the specifics tailored to your situation.
As a general guideline, recording typically takes one day per song, with an additional day for mixing. However, this can vary widely. We've completed full albums in just a few days, while some single songs have taken longer.
Can I visit your studios?
Absolutely! Visiting our studios provides a firsthand look at the possibilities we offer and gives us an opportunity to discuss your project. Please reach out to schedule a visit in advance; arriving without an appointment may find us in the midst of a session.
Can I record with you?
Certainly! We offer recording, mixing, mastering, and various other audio services to all interested parties. Our studio caters to a diverse range of genres, including Pop, Rock, Indie, Country, Folk, Trad, Hip-Hop, EDM, Metal, Techno, Grindcore, Disco, Blues, Doom, and beyond. We prioritize inclusivity and strive to ensure our clients feel secure, welcomed, and valued throughout the recording process. Our studio ethos rejects elitism in favor of a collaborative and supportive environment where sonic exploration flourishes. Whether you seek assistance with writing, recording, mixing, or mastering your music, we're eager to hear from you.
Can we record live?
Absolutely! Our studio is equipped to accommodate various recording approaches. With multiple isolated spaces, ample input channels, personal headphone mix systems, and all necessary amenities, live recording is made easy, enjoyable, and sonically impressive. We'll always collaborate with you to determine the best approach for your recording, whether it involves recording entirely live, capturing parts live, or tracking everything separately. Even in scenarios where separate tracking is preferred, we often record the entire group performing simultaneously to preserve the cohesive energy of a live performance.
I have a song/lyrics. Can you help me arrange a song?
Yes! Arranging a song can be a collaborative process that starts with understanding the style of music you desire. From there, we'll map out the song for melody, structure, arrangement, and more. The time required for this process varies widely, typically ranging from one to five days per song to write, arrange, record, and mix. If you're just starting out, we often recommend connecting with a songwriter friend and beginning the process organically before entering the studio environment.
What hours can we work?
We typically prefer working "by the day" to alleviate pressure from watching the clock. Once engaged in a project, we're driven by the common goal rather than the hours in a day. Generally, we operate for 8-10 hours per day, with a break for lunch in the middle. Sessions usually start at 10 am, but we can work evenings and nights to accommodate your needs. Prices reflect the length of days worked, and sessions begin when you or the engineer arrive to begin setup. This initial setup phase is crucial for making decisions on instrument setup, tuning, microphone choices, and placement, and we often begin this process before your arrival to maintain a steady pace and give the engineer adequate time to prepare.
Can I load in/set up the night before?
If you're traveling from out of town and need a safe place to store your equipment, please let us know, and we'll do our best to accommodate storage at the studio for you. However, we cannot begin setup before your session start time, as this effectively starts your session early.
