Who are i Genesii?

The Players

Fíne - Venus

Since joining I Genesii in 2021, Fíne has played the roles of Ovetta (servant), Fallopia (inammorata), and Venus (goddess). Her other medieval hobbies include English Longbow target archery and clothing recreations from 1350s England, 1500s Germany and 500-400 BCE Austria. Fíne can usually be found camping in--and giving tours of--a bright red wooden Traveler's wagon.

Venus is the goddess of love in its myriad expressions. As Vulcan's consort and ancestor to all Romans, prosperity, beauty, and fertility bloom from her every footfall. Any union blessed by Venus will surely be a happy one!

Arianna- Nespola

Arianna has been a member of i Genesii since 2018. She also directs the Debatable Choir, plays in the Debatable Consort, and enjoys weaving, sewing, and scribal arts.

Nespola is the long-suffering servant who fixes all the messes that the nobles cause. She's in love with Arlecchino, but their masters have thwarted all of their attempts to marry.

Ariella - Juno

Duchess Sir Ariella of Thornbury enjoys fighting, fencing, sewing, hosting, and generally learning in the Society. She lives with her husband and children in their Wexford castle where she’s learning to garden. At home she eats mostly vegan and gluten-free but expands to vegetarian when eating out.

Juno, Queen of the Roman Gods, promotes marriage, fidelity, and childbirth. So, she wants everyone to eat healthy meals at home (just ambrosia and nectar on Olympus for her, though).

Byron - Jupiter

Sir Thomas Byron, Duke of Haverford, is best known in the SCA for being married to Ariella. He has also been known to play strategy games, strike coins, and build castles. Well, one castle, anyway.

Jupiter is, ever so deservedly, the King of the Gods. His every decision guides the fates of gods and men alike. Mortal women cannot resist him. Also, he is unflinchingly humble in the face of his own magnificence.

Broom - Vulcan

Broom has been a member of I Genesii for about three years now (and once before) as part of the Debatable Lands witness protection program, successfully concealing his identity under the soubriquet of "Dottore"... D'oh! I shouldn't have said that...Now he'll need a new cover persona...

Vulcan is the god of fire, volcanoes, metalworking, and forges, but not stupid modern things like electroplating, ewww.

As the husband of Venus, the Certified Most Beautiful Babe Ever, Vulcan is basically the god of banging hot ones. IN YOUR FACE, ZEUS!

Joshua - Flavio

This will be Joshua's second show as a member of I Genesii. He enjoys archery, thrown weapons, and playing any instrument he can find. He has even been known to talk to other people from time to time!

Flavio is the young son of Dottore, a wealthy healer in Venice. He desperately hopes to marry Ovaria, against his father's wishes. He is as intelligent as the plot needs him to be.

Gerschon - Ovaria

This will be Gershon's fourth show as a member of i Genesii. A notable feat considering they like to avoid attention otherwise and have no idea how to write a character bio.

Ovaria is the young naive daughter of some Venician doctor or lawyer or something like that. She is desperately in love with Flavio and will do anything to marry him even if it means breaking her own marriage contract to a wealthy prince...

Lutia - Flaminia

For Lady Lutia Vernier Kitzingen, this shall be only her second show with the troupe having joined in 2025. A lover of all arts, she is finding a meandering path through the SCA and all the wonders it has to offer. She offers a willing hand whenever possible.

Flamina fiercely loves her sister Ovaria and intends to assist her to have a comfortable life as best she is able. She herself has found that in marriage to a wealthy aged man for security and comfort.

Alaric - Arlecchino

Alaric has been a member of I Genesii since 2020. He also directs the Debatable Consort and is a member of the Debatable Choir and Brewers Guild.

Arlecchino is a servant of anyone who can stand him. He is known for loving cheese and being forbidden to get married to Nespola. What is he to do?

Gesa - Dirndelina

Lady Gesa is pleased to be the newest member of I Genesii. She is generally known as an equestrian and with enthusiasm for service and a sincere desire to learn, she joins the company eager to contribute her talents and dedication.

Dirndelina is a German lady’s maid of long and faithful service, who remained in her post well after her lady’s children had come of age. Known for her diligence, discretion, and steadfast devotion to duty, she gradually became a servant not only to one household but to all who might require her aid. Though firmly rooted in service, she harbors an earnest ambition to distinguish herself as a cook and hopes to prepare fabulous dishes for the wedding feast.

Etienne - Capitano

There are questions one must ask oneself after an evening with Lord Etienne Renault, like "Have you ever laughed that much" or "why do they trust this guy with a sword" or "where exactly does he say that accent comes from"? And while you may be able to answer those questions, will they help you understand the man? Probably not, but ask Etienne any question and he'll have an answer, some may just be more sarcastic than others.

Capitano Miguel Diego Carlos Santiago Juan Manuel Marco Banana Fanna Fo Farco De Seville is a dashing and handsome rogue who claims to hail from Spain. All other claims he has made have not been verified, but he has assured us that they're true.
