I found it very dangerous to not be able to recover a deleted project. Think if someone found your password to login into webflow and your username. Now he decided to delete all projects for fun and logout!

We have to redo the whole thing again, I wish that someone will add the fail-safe backup in the future releases. This is insane, at lease if we could delete a website project with two options, non-permanently and permanently. Or we could disable the permanent deletion in the user privileges.

If You Delete A Download Is It Gone Forever

I tried something new and allowed my messages to backup in the ICloud. I deleted several (many) out of the ICloud and realized it just wasn't what I wanted to do. I turned off the message sync and prompted it to download everything back to my phone. Wasn't paying attention. There was an automatic backup this morning and this afternoon I realized 80% of my text messages are now gone.

I'm talking about over big stuff. Like say if you kill somebody or am running a huge drug ring and have used the same phone. When caught under pressure can you just erase all the data on your phone and boom gone or like is it way where that cops or Cia can recover the data no matter what.

After this recovery window, all files will be deleted within 90 days in the normal course of operations. It may take several additional days to complete the deletion depending on the number of files selected for deletion.

Dropbox uses a secure deletion process to delete data from our servers. Additionally, when a Dropbox storage disk has reached the end of its useful life or is damaged, we follow a decommissioning process that is designed to physically or logically destroy the disk to the point data can't be recovered. Our third-party service providers also follow secure protection processes for media they control.

I accidentally permanently deleted "iPhoto Events" album from my iPhone >iCloud>Mac. I went from 8,000 photos to 2,000. I restored some of them from an old time machine backup (March 2013). My iCloud account clearly reflects the deletion. I was told that hard drive data recovery options were futile, because the data was overwritten. Same for the iPhone flash memory. I gave up on any kind of data recovery a week ago, but now this question keeps nagging me: Maybe I missed something? Are my precious photos REALLY gone?

My iPhone told me if you delete them they will be deleted from all your devices, via iCloud. I just didn't listen. I deleted some old videos (that I'd put on a hard drive), and the next day they were still on my computer so I foolishly decided to delete the biggest folder "iPhoto Events". Didn't know about the time lag when I did it...

Sorry, what I meant was I deleted the album from my iPhone, then they were deleted from iCloud and finally from my Mac. The last time machine backup was March 2013. They were deleted from the 'recently deleted folder'. Thanks for the response, and sorry for the confusion, as you can see I'm not a computer person.

If you delete photos from an album they are moved to the recently deleted album for 30 days or until you specifically delete them from there, which ever comes first - this will remove them form ICPL also

I don't know how but I think I accidentally deleted my entire code and couldn't ctrl+z. Now my file I worked hard on is saved as completely blank. Is there anyway to get a history of and somehow recover my code?

I kept receiving messages saying my dropbox was almost out of storage, so I decided to move my digital photos to another platform to free up some space. In the transfer, I accidently deleted a folder called 'dates needed' (or something similar). Many of these were photos of my parents before I was born or very young. I only realized this morning that they were gone. I first checked to see if I moved the folder into an existing folder in dropbox. No luck. Then I opened up the online dropbox and began searching through deleted files. I am not certain, but I think I did this within 30 days. When I searched deleted files, I couldn't find it and it was only showing back to 3 days. I even adjusted the time frame. I began to permanently delete some files and folders that I didn't want and it began showing me more rows. So I kept hunting and deleting but still couldn't find it. What I didn't realize was that when I deleted something that said + 9 files that a file could be a folder! After I got to the point that no more new rows were showing up I did click on one of the 'spaceship' looking icons that said + 9 files and saw to my horror that it a file could be a folder. So in my hunt for the folder, I may have permanently deleted the folder I was trying to save. I am writing to ask is there any thing dropbox can do to help me retrieve this folder?

When you save or send photos, videos, texts and other digital messages on your devices, that data is extremely difficult to remove, even if you delete it from your phone or computer. Nicolas Tucat/AFP via Getty ImagesĀ  hide caption

Texts and other electronic messages from the U.S. Secret Service have become a point a controversy after the Department of Homeland Security's inspector general told Congress that those records were deleted after his office had requested them. But can a text or other digital messages ever truly be erased from existence?

People delete text messages and other electronic messages for many reasons: to free up room on their device; to break contact after a sour conversation; and, from time to time, to wipe out a conversation, for one reason or another.

Alfred Demirjian, founder and CEO of TechFusion, has spent the past 35 years in digital forensics and data recovery in Boston. He said that once you hit send, that information will likely exist forever, especially if the government wants whatever you've sent.

Once the memory on that device fills up entirely, new information is saved on top of those deleted items. Which could be good for those who take loads of innocent photos and videos. Those larger files overwrite old texts, photos and so on.

All my notes are gone. Its not in trash. I already emailed support but no reply yet until this time. I have read a post that on Premium accounts there's a View History functionality. Since I,m using a FREE account and what if I will subscribe today for a premium account will I ever view my history those activities during my FREE account days?

If you've permanently deleted an item in Microsoft Outlook or Outlook on the web (formerly known as Outlook Web App), the item is moved to a folder (Recoverable Items > Deletions) and kept there for 14 days, by default. You can change how long items are kept, up to a maximum of 30 days.

To keep deleted items for longer than 30 days, place the mailbox on In-Place Hold or Litigation Hold. This works because when a mailbox is placed on hold, deleted items are kept and retention settings for deleted items are ignored. See In-Place Hold and Litigation Hold.

When a user permanently deletes a mailbox item (such as an email message, a contact, a calendar appointment, or a task) in Microsoft Outlook and Outlook on the web, the item is moved to the Recoverable Items folder, and into a subfolder named Deletions.

How long deleted items are kept in the Deletions folder depends on the deleted item retention period that is set for the mailbox. An Exchange Online mailbox keeps deleted items for 14 days, by default. Use Exchange Online PowerShell, as shown above, to change this setting, to increase the period up to a maximum of 30 days.

Users can recover, or purge, deleted items before the retention time for a deleted item expires. To do so, they use the Recover Deleted Items feature in Outlook or Outlook on the web. See the following articles for Outlook for Windows or for Outlook on the web.

People delete text messages from their phones all the time. But do those deleted messages disappear forever? Deleting messages is essential for buying or reselling used iPhones or Androids to give buyers a clean slate when starting with their new phone. Removing texts can also free up storage space on devices, and give a sense of privacy and security. Depending on what kind of phone you have, be sure to follow the specific procedure to delete messages permanently.

Telegram and Wickr are two other choices you can use if you want an app that deletes messages for you. Both apps have settings that allow you to delete your texts permanently after reading or sending them.

With cloud settings and many different cellphone makes and models, there are several ways to approach deleting your texts. Here is how to delete texts from your Apple and Google devices or the cloud.

Messages are the same way, except there is no particular folder where you can access those messages and delete them for good. However, you can follow a specific process to delete messages permanently from your iPhone or Apple device.
