So, I have Xbox Series S and when I turn it off with full shutdown option I can still hear slight fan sound when I put my ear near it, so to me it looks like it is not fully turned off even with full shutdown option. Is there any other way which fully shuts down the console other than plugging the power cable from the console?

This change will not affect your ability to play Xbox 360 games or DLC you have already purchased. Xbox 360 game content previously purchased will still be available to play , not only the Xbox 360 console but also Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S devices via backward compatibility.

If I Turn Off My Xbox Series S Will It Still Download

Yes. Even after July 2024, you will still be able to play games and connect with friends through multiplayer on the games you purchased, as long as the publisher still supports the online servers. You can still save your games and progress to the cloud, and if you choose to continue any of those available games on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S, those cloud saves will transfer over.

@zohaibkeyani first off "The rice thing" absolutely bogus. Does not do anything other than give you a false sense of doing something. Forget the rice altogether. You will have to disassemble your xbox and clean it properly. Use these guides to work on it. Then clean your parts with high grade (90%+) isopropyl alcohol. That means all parts. Once done reassemble and evaluate for any failures. For further help with this I'd suggest you contact the console guru on here. Yes we all like to spend as little money as possible, but if you do not fix this now it will cost you much more later on.

@meagercode nope. 70% still has 30% water. It will take much longer to evaporate and will evaporate a disproportionately large percentage of its alcohol, leaving the remainder with less and eventually leaving only water behind.

So, my son broke his xbox by spilling milk on the top. I did the tilt thing or wiped it down when it happened. It has now been 5 months later and it is still sitting here. Is it a lost or is it possible to get it fixed?

Xbox Series X Shut-down mode will mean that your console powers down pretty much fully when you turn the console off. It offers the lowest power consumption - around 0.5W - making it a more environmentally friendly and economical, which is definitely something to consider in this day and age. You obviously won't get the rapid start-up like the other mode, but you'll only have to wait around 20 seconds for the console to boot up from cold every time, and any games you left in a suspended state through Xbox Quick Resume will still be there.

System and game updates can now also go head while the console is in its energy-saving state (previously, this was a big plus for using the Instant-on standby mode). While this is great in theory, it seems to be bit unreliable in practice based on our experience. Game updates will sometimes stop downloading after switching the console off, leaving you with a half-downloaded update when you turn your console back on - just make sure you manually check for updates fairly often so you don't get a massive backlog of downloads!

Change the app back to how it use to be on xbox series. It updated and it's horrible. Had to relog in. You have to scan a qr code to chat which is ridiculous. The categories are randomly scattered and in no order which you can't change. Categories and streams are surround by a blinding white box now and everything seems jumbled together. I swear a room full of 3 year Olds designed this new layout. NOTHING about it is better.

I have been having horrible white noise static issues when streaming. This never use to happen before. Its very annoying cause i went to twitch about the issue.. im told they cant help go to Microsoft.. i had all new equipment. I sent both my xbox and my head phones to Microsoft to look at them. No issues in either of those things. The issue is not my internet ad it wasnt happing before. Let Microsoft know the issue was still there and i was just ignored. Went back to twitch... just to tell them i think they need to work with Microsoft to come up with a hot fix or something cause some where theres a connection issue.. Twitch again told me they couldnt help yet again.... I have done every troubleshooting step under the sun.. idk how to go aboit this anymore..

well thats good for you. obviously you have a cooling issue.

I know a number of people i play with that havent any issues dont need cooling fans etc and are still playing

Do I need a cooling fan on mine No its well ventilated and doesnt get anywhere near a temp that would cause issues but I chose to put one on the same way I chose extra fans on my pc.

Basically from your comment your saying xbox should never have released there system as it cant handle the games that are built for it

as for buying cheap equipment that is what You are suggesting to do to fix the problem,

also if running fc24 when ive just turned xbox on i still get 5 mins into the game if im lucky so the temperature my console is makes zero difference.

There is no solution at all so far

When I turn on my xbox 360 I can hear the fan working and The green light in the middle turns on. I am not able to connect a controller. When I turn on my tv nothing shows up. My xbox had been working perfectly fine a couple of minutes ago. When I tried to turn it on again this happened. The adapter light is orange when the xbox is off and when I turn the Xbox on it turns green. I am able to open and close the disc tray to insert a game disk but nothing happens. Does any one know what the problem is?

I guess you have to get yourself a new xbox or send it to Microsoft if you still have warranty (if you have something like x360key, obivously remove it first). It has nothing to do with the HDMI cable (or any other cable) since you can't connect an controller (you could try another controller).

Does the Xbox do the spinning ring of light on boot? If it does, do you have other screen cables? Did you change screen settings recently? If you have recently changed resolution to a higher pixel ratio (1080p from 720p or 480p) you might need to connect a pair of cables that switch from HDTV to TV and use the TV option for the moment, this will force the 360 to rewrite the config of the resolution and use 480p for standard CRT TVs. Chances are that if you can't get any picture at all form either your HDMI or Standard screen cables that the video component is shot and you would need to contact xbox support. It's rare but I've seen it happen and falls under warranty if the xbox is still in the three to four year warranty.

I still have a weird issue, but like I said on my iPhone, my Xbox controller will connect, and then make the Virtual Controller disappear indicating that the Controller is connected (at least). But nothing functions from the Xbox controller. Then turn off controller and Virtual Controller comes back on... (the controller is there in the debug info, Mac too if I am not mistaken).

I ran into this early on in xb1 minecraft. It turned out that somehow our controllers had been assigned to certain profiles. After we got rid of that, we don't have that problem any more. I don't remember exactly at the moment, and my kids are watching a tv show right now, but it should be in settings for the controller, or within each person's profile...... I will look into that again and get back on late tonight to see if you got your issue resolved.

I had the same issue after my wife logged off the game I was playing. I reloaded the map and I was still getting the prompt. The only cure was to hard-restart my xbox. Looks like it was a glitch since she was still signed into her profile, but her controller was turned off. I think logging out of the profile after you exit should work too. Not too sure about the last however, it's just a hunch.

If you have to turn off subtitles every time you watch a Kids TV show or movie, play a title with a maturity rating of Teens or above set to your preferred subtitle language. This will save your settings for future viewing.

If changing your subtitle options to None on your 2011 or 2012 Samsung Smart TV does not turn off subtitles, we recommend using another device to stream Netflix. Because this issue only occurs on older versions of the Netflix app, you will only be able to adjust your subtitle settings by using an alternate device.

While a lot of folks tend to focus on how powerful consoles are, there's a lot to be said about providing an affordable experience, even with slightly less power. The Nintendo Switch has been doing it for years, and for the most part, the Xbox Series S gives a similar experience but has been almost completely ignored, even though it's still an excellent console. Well, if you're willing to give it a shot, you can get it from Best Buy for just $250 instead of the usual $300, and you even get three months of Xbox Game Pass thrown in.

Q: Will this change affect how I play these games on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S through backwards compatibility?

A: No, as we are just closing the online services for Forza Horizon 1 and Forza Horizon 2, you will still be able to play the single-player portions of these games on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S through backwards compatibility.

Yes, there are ways to improve your Xbox's picture capabilities even more. Just turn on 4K and HDR on the Xbox itself. When your TV is 4K UHD, the Xbox should detect it automatically and will ask if you want to turn on 4K. However, if you initially missed or skipped this popup, you can activate 4K manually.

NOTE: Children will still be able to make purchases with gift cards and funds that parents put into their account. The account holder will always receive an email whenever a purchase is made via the Xbox Store. 006ab0faaa
