A POOL is a collection or bank of questions that is stored, and you can reuse . Pools are never deployed or made visible to students.
Then when you create a Test, you will have to create RANDOM BLOCK quetions to pull questions from the POOL and make them visible to students.
TIP: If you have a test that covers different topics and you would like to make sure each student gets questions on each topic, then break the different topics into different pools
On each POOL include questions of approximately the same difficulty.
Then, you will use separate Random blocks to pull the questions from each pool.
On the course Menu on the right, scroll down to find Course Tools
Expand the Course Tools section and select Tests, Surveys, and Pools.
On the Tests, Surveys, and Pools page, select POOLS.
On the Pools page, select Build Pool.
Write the name of the Pool and select Submit.
Create Questions.
Once you have built the POOLS of questions (step A)
You have to CREATE A TEST (Step1 on the top of this page)
Step 2 instead of create quesions, from REUSE QUESTION menu, select CREATE RANDOM BLOCK.
A pop-up window will apear in wich you can select the check boxes for the POOL you want to use to pull the questions from.
Select the check box for at least one question type to include. If you want to inclue them all , choose all types.
All questions that meet the criteria appear. Submit.
Repeat the same process to create more Random Blocks
The Test Canvas appears and displays a success message. The RANDOM BLOCK of questions is added to the test.
Select Number of Questions to display. (1 by default) type the number of questions you want students to see. Submit.
Points per question by default is 10. Yow can change it if you need so. (This point value is assigned to each question in the random block. You can't assign separate point values for individual questions in the same random block. So, you may want to only include questions of approximately the same difficulty.)
