一、課程說明(Course Description)
The process of engineering system design, especially involving optical, mechanical and electrical/electronics sub-systems, is introduced through case studies and design projects. The objectives of this course are:
1. To learn about the process of designing a system with multi-disciplinary subsystems.
2. To learn about designing creative engineering product/solution.
3. To learn about design as a group activity.
Notes: 請注意:
1. This course requires students to conceptualize, study, design, and make a model or prototype product in a team within 16 weeks. Students should prepare to devote at least 12 hours per week, in addition to regular class hours, on the average, in order to have best learning results. Students who cannot spend 12 hours per week on this course should consider taking it in a different semester.
2. This year, each team is encouraged or required to include students from the School of Technology Management in the course of Innovation Strategy. Details will be discussed and arranged in the first week.
3. Also in collaboration with the School of Technology Management, students in this course are encouraged to participate in 2016創業菁英計畫學員甄選. One to two teams will be selected to receive a generous sum of funding to further develop their design during the summer in order for commercialization. Details are to be given during the course.
4. To support the NTHU globalization effort and to offer students an opportunity of experiencing technical and commercial discussions in English, course 343602 (W3W4F4) will be offered in English. (Major lectures will be delivered in English. However, students may use Chinese for their presentations, discussions and reports.)
