BEFORE THE IENK
When I had leveled up to about age 7 I was voted out of my own room for some wannabe artists business venture. This wannabe, aka my Uncle would seize my room and turn what was my princess themed safe haven into an ink-stained, dim-lit home-studio dungeon, complete with an axe-wall. My pretty pink world was being charred into various shades of grey and was certainly revising my identity along the way. Where one door closed, another shared a peek into what would later become a passion-filled career.
Yearning to create, nothing ever satisfied my artistic hunger as much as stealing stencil paper to stain blue designs onto my little arms and legs for days at a time. Showing off my stains in elementary school, it wasn't long after that I realized I wanted my art to mean something to people so much that they'd want to look at it for the rest of their lives like I did. It's impressive I didn't handle a machine until years later.
At 15 I was obligated to $100 for Xmas from my grandparents unimpressed with any of my listed requests. The day after, I learned the real definition of permanence. And ever since, I've chosen to accept that I am my own masterpiece.
