IELTS exam - instead of other exams
IELTS exam - instead of other exams
At first, to be honest, I had a hard time imagining what IELTS was, and I could not predict my result at all. I expected to get an overall score of at least six, but I got seven! TOEFL Pakistan I was very glad of this. In addition, I decided to take IELTS for myself in order to try my hand, but in the end, these results were counted to me instead of internal exams in a foreign language at the university.
Reading
If the process of preparing for Reading itself is clearly structured and systematized, it will not be difficult for you to get a high score for this part. In our case, with a group we alternately worked out different types of tasks, this approach helps to concentrate, hone all the necessary skills and choose the right approach to completing each of them.
Important: At first it seemed to me that it was generally unrealistic. To get acquainted with a rather complex text, delve into the topic, and all this in some 20 minutes, so that there was enough time for assignments.
Very quickly it turned out that to read the entire text thoroughly it is not necessary, but you just need to learn how to work with it.
Listening
In addition to listening in the classroom, you need to try to do them yourself. Regularly, as often as possible. In my case, for example, it turned out about three listening options per week which I did and worked through the assignments for them.
Important: Watching movies in the original is a really powerful tool that will bring not only benefits. But also a pleasure to watch. In my opinion, the most effective way to prepare for IELTS will be watching with English subtitles, which will help everything you hear and will allow you to learn the maximum amount of useful vocabulary and new words.
Writing
I absolutely agree that the writing part for US, Russian students, is the most difficult of all. Because you need to understand the topic of the essay, analyze, create a plan in your head. Next, you need to determine which phrases and expressions from your vocabulary you will use for each of the written assignments.
Important: Work through all the parts of writing in turn. It is best to do this under the supervision of an expert IELTS teacher who can competently assess and identify the strengths and weaknesses of your work. It will also help you determine which specific vocabulary and techniques may be useful for you.
Speaking
The most important thing in spoken English is constant practice and skill. Between the end of the course and the passing of the exam in person, I got a gap of one month. And I decided to play it safe. An excellent solution in such a situation would be a conversation club.
The excitement for this part is usually the strongest, but in my case the anxiety passed by about the middle of testing and everything turned out to be not so scary at all. PTE Pakistan
Important: Do not worry if you do not understand the reaction to your answer during testing. This does not necessarily mean something bad. Just stick to the plan of the answer and keep talking, do not create unnecessary psychological barriers for yourself.
