Cast A Light Pod is built on four key sustainable development goals, which will enable our community to make individual contributions to tackling critical challenges in combating inequities in technology access starting at our chosen project locations in Kenya, Qatar, and the Americas. We invite you to be a catalyst for change as you join us in reducing global inequality and promoting peace, justice, and strong institutions, and sustainable health practices through action and interaction.
Provide opportunities for healthy engagement with technology through policies that guide the usage and consumption of digital information that promotes health and wellness. Redirect available funding to provide access to technologies that protect users from online cyber crime and bullying, and exposure to content that negates or comprises the health and wellbeing of users. Engage in the development of tools to monitor or evaluate health and wellness.
Make a tangible contribution to reducing the equity gaps in quality higher education across the globe by first amplifying conditions in Kenya, Qatar, and specific contexts in the Americas. Many institutions struggle to provide technology resources, which are essential for development, so amplifying the issues and suggesting solutions will also help to reduce the gaps across institutional systems. Identify hidden assets that can facilitate affordable and accessible digital technologies to enhance access to quality education for all.
Investigate and invest in infrastructure and services that are accessible to all by incorporating technology resources and tools into teaching and learning practices to address the specific needs of diverse learners. Proactively remove barriers to technology access and adoption through focused engagement through ongoing institutional support and faculty training. Collaborate with funding agencies and policy development towards sustainable solutions locally and globally.
Encourage inclusive practices in the selection and procurement of digital technologies that involve all stakeholders in making decisions towards adoption. Remove obscure procurement practices to avoid escalating costs for the majority and the marginalized. Recognize overseas qualification - Access to technology should ensure harmonization in credit transfer, or an easier mechanism to convert credit or qualification across geographical contexts.
