is a Sr. Principal Researcher at Microsoft Research. She currently serves as Overall Papers Co-Chair for IEEE VIS 2021 and is a member of the VIS Executive Committee. Bongshin has served as Papers Co-Chair for IEEE InfoVis 2015 & 2016 and for PacificVis 2018, as well as Associate Editor for IEEE TVCG. She co-organized the tutorial, titled Beyond Paper Types: How to Evaluate and Communicate VIS Research Contributions in 2019. Bongshin received her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Maryland at College Park in 2006.

is a Research Scientist at Inria and member of the LISN lab at Université Paris-Saclay. She is Associate Editor-in-Chief at IEEE CG&A and Associate Editor of IEEE TVCG. Petra served two years as Papers Co-Chair for IEEE InfoVis (2018 and 2019) and has been the Co-Chair of the biennial BELIV workshop from 2012 to 2018. She was also a member of the VIS Restructuring committee and is now vice-chair of the VIS Steering Committee. Petra received her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Calgary in 2009.
