Topic: Network Design for Controllability
Abstract: Controllability of complex networks poses challenges when we apply tools from classical control theory due to the large size of networks. These challenges manifest themselves in form insufficient knowledge of edge weights, unavailability of nodes for control and in some cases impracticable energy requirements for control purposes. In this talk we present algorithms to solve the problem of optimal topology design to minimise control energy and optimal input design which ensures controllability of Network Systems.
Bio: Ramkrishna obtained his PhD in systems and control from the University of Twente, The Netherlands. He is a faculty member of Electrical Engineering IIT Madras since 2011 and a full Professor from 2022. He held visiting positions at Stanford university, School of Medicine in 2019.
He is also an associate faculty with the Wadhwani School of Data Science and AI, at IIT Madras. He serves as a coordinator for NPTEL at IIT Madras and also serves as the chair of the UG programs at the IIT Madras Zanzibar campus. His current research interests are in the intersection of data science, network systems and control theory, and connected and autonomous vehicles.
