The “Social Activity at Dr. Sree Sree Sivakumaraswamy Bio-diversity Park, Panditanahalli, Tumakuru ", took place on 9 October 2022 at the foothills of Panditanahalli. The activity was conducted on the occasion of IEEE day.

Event Details:

The participants gathered at the Bio-diversity park at 8:00 AM.The coordinators helped the volunteers to identify different types of herbs and plants. The volunteers cleaned the park, planted a few saplings, and watered them. They also removed the lantana grass present in and around the medicinal plants.

Event Outcomes:

The volunteers cleaned the park, planted a few saplings, and watered them. They also removed the lantana grass present in and around the medicinal plants. A total of 24 members from IEEE SIT SB participated in the event and contributed their part to protect the environment.

The machine learning workshop was conducted on 8th of October 2022 virtually on Microsoft Teams platform. Dr.S Sethu Selvi, Professor department of E&C, Ramaiah Institute of Technology Bengaluru was the speaker for the session. Speaker engaged the session for about an hour.

Dr. S Sethu Selvi Ma’am engaged the session for about an hour. It was a very resourceful and interactive session. Students got more insights on machine learning and deep learning.The take away from this session was; a better understanding of Machine learning, Deep learning and insight about some projects done by speaker.

Event Name: Session on Career Guidance

Event Description:

The “Session on Career Guidance” was held for students of 8th, 9th and 10th standard at Kyathsandra Government School, Tumkuru on 3rd October 2022. The session guided students on various career opportunities available after 10th standard. A few handouts were given to them as a reference.

Event Details:

The session guided students through various career opportunities and examinations that can be taken by them, including entrance exams for undergraduate courses and scholarship exams from different organisations. A few handouts were given to them as a reference and at the end they had a doubt clearing session.

Event Outcomes:

The ajenda of the event is to make aware of various opportunities available today and the scope of each career stream in brief for high school students. A bold message was given that it is not just about a career but about pursuing their interests and strengths equally.The response from the students and faculty was very positive.

Event Name: The Alumni meet

Event Description:

The Alumni Meet, which took place on the 2nd of October 2022 at Siddaganga Institute of Technology, was accompanied by WIE IEEE SIT-SB. The purpose of the occasion was to rekindle the relationship between the college and its alumni, who were in attendance with their families.

Event Details:

WIE IEEE SIT-SB hosted a variety of entertaining games for the children and women alumni in attendance. A total of eight events were held which included four stall games and four competition games. WIE's mission was to create a welcoming environment and keep them active throughout the day. . It was also a place for them to relive their memories and reminisce about the good old days

Event Outcomes:

The day was a hive of rejuvenation and joy. The WIE members were all interested in getting the participants involved and cheering them up. Winners of these fun games received prizes, and the children received gifts.

Event Description:

This was the first WIE meeting in the academic year of 2022-23. It was a meeting of duration 40 minutes which had a discussion on upcoming events of WIE which mainly focused on the topics related to social service and other activities aimed at enhancing women and society.

Event Details:

The event mentored by Prakruthi C, Chairman and Sneha Neelappagol, Vice Chairman, WIE affinity IEEE SIT-SB, Shivraj Karjagi, Vice Chairman and Basavaradhya M C, Student Activity Head, IEEE SIT-SB. This meeting received a response from 85 IEEE SIT-SB members on 24th of September.

Event Outcomes:

This meeting also gave a brief introduction about the operation and functioning of WIE affinity, to the newly joined members of it. It was an interactive session and ideas were discussed for upcoming events, students were asked to give their ideas related to it and they were encouraged to enhance their skills and ideas highlighting the importance of it.
