IEEE UVCE WIE conducted a School Adoption Programme with the aim to impart education to students thus taking part in a social cause. Students of grades 8th and 9th were the participants of this session.
The session was conducted in two parts.
Firstly, a quick brush up on basic topics was done and the session was initiated by teaching the students spellings of words related to school and technical aspects, which was followed by them being tested on these spellings. The students bagging the highest score in this spelling test were awarded with goodies.
In the second half, the session was made interactive by asking the students to come up with the meanings of homophones and to guess the difference in their spellings. Students who showed active participation were awarded with chocolates.
An assignment was given to the students to find out homophones along with their meaning for the next session.
This educational event was concluded by students talking about their take away and feedback from this class. There was never a dull moment in this effervescent event with the students and we bid them with our hearts full.

Every citizen needs to take into account the pressing issue of sustainable development. By sharing the benefits—financial and sociological—with society, CSR operations are seen as a crucial part of how organizations handle the needs of communities and the environment.
There were roughly 75 students enrolled in the school, ranging in age from fourth to eighth grade. After a brief introduction, the office holders and volunteers took the initiative to give these kids a day jam-packed with enjoyable activities that were intended to improve their practical and logical skills as well as their educational talents. Children were divided into groups, each of which had five volunteers caring for them, making the entire session quite engaging. Each group had 15 students and volunteers who could speak English, Hindi, and Kannada.
In the first exercise, kids were asked to list one item they would bring with them if they had to walk into the wilderness and survive there. The volunteers were able to get some quite imaginative answers to this question. The game continued by allowing the children to form groups depending on the supplies they selected to survive, honing their team-building abilities.
The kids played a delightful treasure hunt game after a brief break for refreshments.
An educational experiment of a volcano eruption was then conducted, and the supplies were provided for the school's students to replicate what the IEEE volunteers had done.
Every student received some stationery and a school bag at the conclusion of the visit, and the volunteers made sure to engage in numerous conversations about the future with the young minds.
The agenda of the activity was to impart practical knowledge about teamwork to the students while honing their social and logical abilities through games and experiments and to ingrain in their young minds questions about the future with respect to their career and education.
The entire experience was highly rewarding for everyone involved, including the volunteers and office bearers who made sure the visit ran smoothly.
The experience and contributions of the students were appreciated by the Student Branch, which then decided to adopt the school and plan multiple activities and programs for them in the latter part of the year.
