"Electrothermal Filter Design Using Parametric Bi-directional CAD Integration"
IEEE MTT/AP Orlando chapter meeting
Date/time: Tuesday, Feb. 2nd, 2015 (4:00pm-6:00pm)
Speaker: Dr. Charlott Blair
ANSYS. INC
ABSTRACT:
In this presentation we will outline a filter design methodology based on a number of ANSYS tools. In the industry, filters using ceramic resonators are often used for low losses and good power handling capabilities. For these applications, heat transfer from its internal parts is critical for the design. We will see how to include the thermal analysis as a natural part in the design methodology. Also, in modern product development it is very common to use geometry files exported from the mechanical CAD systems for various simulations. However, this has in the past been only one-directional. In the proposed design methodology we will show how to set up a bi-directional link between the mechanical CAD and the electro-thermal simulation environment using the ANSYS Workbench application.
