Authors with accepted abstract contributions have to hold
A short lightning talk
A poster presentation
Format and printing
The information about the poster and poster board sizes will be provided by the main conference soon. You can check the SMC website for presenters instructions.
Note that you will need to print and bring the posters yourselves (no printing service is available at the conference!).
Mounting posters
There is a dedicated time slot to present your posters (see tentative schedule) but you are welcome to keep your poster mounted during the afternoon coffee breaks, where fellow researchers can discuss with you.
The lighting talk presentation (pptx or pdf)
There will be a Lightning talks part of the workshop (see tentative schedule) where authors will get 4-5 minutes to introduce their work.
Presentation slides:
You are expected to provide a title slide for your poster in Microsoft .pptx- or pdf-format.
You can to add two more slide for your lighting talk (i.e., a maximum of three slides, with the title slide)
You must provide the organizing team with the slides no later than October 2nd. We will merge all material into one common presentation, which helps us to minimize the “unnecessary technical breaks”.
The lighting talk
You are expected to be at the venue of the presentation
You will one by one be asked to enter the stage and give your talk.
You will have a “clicker” to advance the slides.
We will be strict on the time.
World Café Discussion
One of the main goals of the workshop is to have an in depth discussion about whether (and, if yes, in which application domains and how long) do we need shared and cooperative control system. The discussion will also focus on identifying models and patterns of human–machine systems that are appropriate for this purpose, and on systematically evaluating and analyzing their usefulness and quality to develop comprehensive evaluation methods. Furthermore, we will examine evaluation criteria that help decide under which conditions a shared control system is preferable compared to full automation.
You are welcome to participate in the discussion.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
Authors are invited to submit their original works in two categories related to our activities at SMC 2025:
Full Papers and Workshop Abstracts.
For both submissions, please follow the instructions below and submit them via the PaperCept System
The Call for Papers of the IEEE SMC can be found here.
Full Papers should be submitted as Special Session Papers to the conference. Please follow the submission instructions for special session contributions, see here.
Special Session Full Title and Code: Exploring Shared and Cooperative Control Systems: Models, Patterns and Assessment Methodologies, 481as
Deadline for Full Papers: May 4, 2025, see Important Dates SMC 2025
Workshop Abstracts should be submitted as Workshop Contribution Submission. Please follow the submission instructions for workshop contributions, see here.
Workshop Full Title and Code: Models, Patterns and Assessment Methodologies: An Interactive Workshop on Shared and Cooperative Control Systems, 8bfke
Deadline for Workshop Abstracts: May 23, 2025, see Important Dates SMC 2025
Workshop Contribution Format: 1 page IEEE-format extended abstract incorporating figures and references to present the main idea along with a short conceptual overview and/or early results. Please consider using the IEEE conference templates, see LaTeX and Word template.
Furthermore, we plan to propose a Special Issue in IEEE THMS based on selected abstracts accepted and presented at the workshop. Authors of these abstracts will be invited to submit extended versions of their work as full papers for consideration in this Special Issue.
