Why should you learn Unix?
It's essential.
People working in Silicon Valley, or in another part of the world with a similar culture and similar ambitions have to know Unix (most likely in its GNU/Linux form).
Unix is part of hacker culture, and learning Unix will teach you a lot about how good software systems are designed. (Anything that's still going strong after more than 40 years must have something going for it.)
Learning Unix gives you a toolkit that you can then use to solve real problems.
Aim: The objective of this course is to familiarize a student with the *NIX environment.
Duration: The course extends for a period of 10 weeks. Week 5 and Week 10 are auxillary (for doubts and assessments).
