Title : Challenge based learning, 21st century employability and the experiences of the Social Impact Lab
Speaker : Dr Pathik Pathak – Associate Professor of Social Entrepreneurship and Director of the Social Impact Lab at the University of Southampton, UK
Date: 23 April 2021 (Friday)
Timings: 2.30 to 3:45 PM (IST)
Abstract: In this talk Dr Pathik Pathak will outline the principles of challenge-based learning (CBL), how it answers the needs of the 21st century economy and higher education. CBL sits at the intersection of problem-based and service learning, merging the principles of “T-shaped leadership” (Brown, 2005) with the graduate capital model as an evaluative framework (Tomlinson, 2017, 2020). He will also explain how CBL informs the work of the University of Southampton Social Impact Lab and our current portfolio of activities.
Title: Adversarial Examples of Deep Learning System and Its Defense
Speaker: Minoru Kuribayashi, Okayama University, Japan
Mode: Virtual
Date: 15.03.2021
Time:1100 am to 12.00 pm
Deep neural network (DNN) is known to be vulnerable to adversarial attacks, where adversarial noise is added to images or speech files so that a target DNN-based system outputs wrong results. Adversarial examples are the content which fools a system. Examples of systems that can be attacked using adversarial examples include face recognition and automatic driving system.
Title: Computational Intelligence for Remotely Sensed Data
Speaker: Debajyoti Dhar
Date: 28.1.2021
