Analysing the number of accidents over years:
Looking at the overall aviation accidents data from 1980 - 2022 and over the years we can observe a negative correlation between the number of accidents and year.
1982 was the worst year because there were around 3547 accidents in that year alone.
Based on this line of the best fit we can conclude that, as the year increases the total number of accidents decreases. This is evident to understand that the airlines have corrected from the previous mistakes and are not repeating same issues thus resulting in negative trend but still the count is significant as lot of fatalities are still happening.
Aviation Accidents Split worldwide:
Analysing the Number of accidents over years w.r.t each country:
We can see that The US is by far the highest contributors for the accidents, but that is due to the establishment of the Aviation industry there but still the number is concerning.
We can also see that the number of accidents has been reducing towards the later years.
Analysing the Types of injuries and the % contribution to the Total Injuries
--> Out of the total injuries 9.5% are Fatal injuries and has led to loss of lives
--> 81% of Accidents have resulted in no injuries.
--> The rest contributors are Serious and Minor injuries.
Thus, we can observe how threatening consequences the Accidents can prove to be.
Thus in Section one we have observed the Severity that the Aviation Accidents can cause and the aftermaths. Now we need to understand the root cause of these accidents and only then we can cook into ways of mitigation and improve the quality if the Air travel. So the Section-2 Analysis on the root causes of these Aviation Accidents
