Formula 1 is one of the most famous sports in the world. It is the highest class of international racing for single-seater formula racing cars. Formula One is sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) and inaugurated on 13 May 1950 as the World Drivers’ Championship at Silverstone in the United Kingdom. In 1981 it became known as the FIA Formula One World Championship.
Etymology:
The word 'Formula' refers to the set of rules that the participants have to adhere to and '1' refers to the race tracks that are graded as '1' (formerly A) by the FIA.
Each season consists of several races called Grand Prix which are conducted all over the world. The world Grand Prix is of french origin meaning great prize.
As of 2021, 32 countries have hosted the Formula One Championship all across the globe and our dataset contains the data of every F1 championship conducted from 1950 - 2020 (2021 ongoing).
The dataset contains the information about the seasons, circuits, races, drivers and driver standings, constructors and their standings, pitstops, laptimes and more.
We have used this data to gather information about various aspects of the competition.
SECTION 1:
In this section, we looked at the driver's standings over time, constructors standings over time, who the Top 10 drivers are and how are they performing compared to others
Section 2:
Here, we looked at the various circuits, Accident statistics for various circuits, and favorite tracks of drivers.
SECTION 3:
Lastly in this section, we tried to compare famous drivers.
