The county as a level of government that carries out a series of services to local people, also has some degree of decision right when providing energy. The very first question that we have is how many solar energy projects are in each county. By analyzing the dataset, we have concluded that all counties in New York State have solar projects. Which county has more solar energy projects? And relatively, which county has fewer solar energy projects? The result has shown in the plots below.
insights from the analysis:
Long Island area (Suffolk County and Nassau County) has the most solar energy projects. Direct follow by New York City counties such as Queens and Richmond. Westchester locates north of the New York City area also has more than 6000 projects.
Hamilton has the least number of projects. The entire county in northern NYS with a population of 5000 only has 29 solar projects. Lewis County which is not far from Hamilton has 55 projects.
Most of the projects are located in the southeast part of New York State, where we usually referring as The New York City metropolitan area. To the far west side of the state, Erie, where Buffalo at, also has almost 3000 projects.
