專題講座

針對本計畫舉辦研討會之主題，特邀請具有國際知名地位的三位學者。7月8日(Thursday)講者一為澳大利亞MONASH 大學的Gene Bawden教授，7月8日(Thursday)講者二為日本名古屋學藝大學的黄ロビン(Robin Ko)教授，以及7月9日(Friday)講者三為國立新加坡大學教授顏慶全教授(Ching-Chiuan Yen)，為本研討會進行專題演講。

Keynote Speech
As part of the IDSFC 8th 2021 conference, three Keynote Lecture Events will take place of conference day. The keynotes are presentations by figures from innovation in design form some of the highlights of the conference. Each presentation will be followed by a short Q&A session, and will be open to all conference participants and to a wider audience.

Day 1 Keynote Lectures I :
Monash University XYX Design Research Lab:

User-centred design thinking tools and experiences that address gender equality in cities

Dr. Gene Bawden
Professor, Monash University, Australia

Dr Gene Bawden is Head of the Department of Design at Monash University, Faculty of Art Design and Architecture. He is also a founding member and co-director with Associate Professor Nicole Kalms of the Faculty’s XYX Lab, a research lab concerned with mitigating urban-based gender inequality through design. Gene has over 30 years experience as a communication designer and design educator, and has a unique capability as a design thinking facilitator. At Monash University he has played central roles in design education and course development, including the development of MADA’s design thinking curriculum and the delivery of a tailored design thinking program for the Monash Business School MBA and Global Executive MBA. He is also the author of "Comfort and Judgement", published through Monash University Publishing. This book examines Australia's colonial interior design practices through the lense of gender identity.

Dr. Wen-Huei Chou
Professor, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, Taiwan

Dr. Min-Hui Chou graduated from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia with a PhD in National Design. She is currently a professor in the Department of Digital Media Design at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology in Taiwan, and the Director of the Centre for Sustainable Development and Social Practice Research.

Her areas of expertise and focus are innovative design and service design, digital design ethnography, experimental animation research, and design thinking.

She has devoted herself to social design research over the years, exploring the value of design and its role and impact in society through the study of user experiences and the analysis of social ecological systems. She has a long history of teaching and research through courses, projects, master's and doctoral students, and has worked with various social welfare organisations and groups in the wilderness and in the sea, conducting in-depth research on issues in the field. With years of experience in international project collaboration and relocation teaching, she has led students in research and study in Europe, the United States and South America, providing an in-depth and reflective approach to international cultural learning.

黄 ロビン （Ko Robin,羅賓）

Professor, Nagoya University of Arts and Sciences, Japan

After graduating from the NCKU by the excellent record, Robin worked in the Taiwan Sharp Inc. as an in-house designer. Afterwards, he entered the Master program of Design at Tsukuba University. Robin studied the UI design, and won the best award of "Street Furniture design international competition '90", Robin Design Office is started up after he returns homeland, and lots of design prizes are won. Robin taught at the Taiwan Da-Yeh University from 1993 to 1997, and Shih-Chien University as a part-time lecturer. On the other hand, this period, be a researcher in the CCL of ITRI also. He moved to Japan in 1997 again. From 2001 to 2004, Robin taught at TUAD. Chairman of 3rd branch of JSSD, Director of the board member of the JIDA and JSSD in past. “Best Designer of the year” by CCDO, 2018.

Empowering Users through Design

Dr. Ching-Chiuan Yen (顏慶全)
Professor, National University of Singapore, Singapore

Dr.YEN Ching Chiuan is a Dean's Chair Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS), an Associate Professor in the Division Industrial Design (DID), Co-Director of Keio-NUS CUTE Center, Deputy Director of AM.NUS (NUS Centre for Additive Manufacturing), and was the founding Head of Division of Industrial Design. He also holds joint appointments with the Smart Systems Institute and AM.NUS at NUS. Having authored more than 60 international and national refereed articles, A/Prof Yen possesses an excellent ability to combine theoretical thinking and design practise in design education and research. His research interests lie in methodologies for design, and he champions a “pluralistic dimension” of design study and research, in particular, in the area of design for healthcare and interaction. Ching Chiuan is a keen supporter of the interdisciplinary design and research collaborations and has received more than SDG 30 million grants as a PI, Co-PI or Collaborator from government agencies and industries.

He has collaborated with many renowned companies including ABBOT, ASUS, BMW Designwork USA, Coca-Cola, DELL, Estee Lauder, National University of Hospital, P&G, Samsung, Swarovski, Singapore Civil Defence Force, Tupperware, VISA, and Wildlife Reserves Singapore, etc. More than 20 patents have been filed by his team at NUS and more than 10 innovations/ technologies have been licensed/adopted by industries. His supervision in design is highly regarded and has received more than 50 renowned international or regional design awards in the past 10 years, including, to name a few, ACM CHI Student Competition 2016, Stanford Longevity Technology Prize 2015, iF STUDENT DESIGN AWARD 2015, Red Dot Award: Design Concept 2015 James Dyson Award (Singapore) 2012.

For his extensive contributions and academic excellence, A/Prof Yen has received several honours in recognition of his excellent teaching, including the NUS Annual Excellent Teaching Award 2005, NUS SDE Teaching Excellent Award 2012, and NUS Inspiring Mentor Award 2009; as well as research and design honours such as, Reimagine Education Award 2019: Asia-Pacific Award, Liteon award 2015, 2016: Gold Award, GlobalTic Award, 2013, and 14th Start-up @ Singapore 2013, etc.

Dr. CHI-YU CHUANG (莊啓佑)

Assistant Professor, Chang Jung Christian University, Taiwan

Dr. Chih-You Chuang graduated from National Taiwan University with a Ph.D. in Bioindustrial E&M Engineering (2008/09-2014/08) and a M.S. in Environmental Medicine from National Cheng Kung University (2004/09-2007/03); his specialties include occupational health, environmental control, biosafety, and circular economy, and he holds a number of patents and inventions related to sterilization devices.

He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Occupational Safety and Health, Chang Jung Christian University (2016/02-present). In the past, he was an assistant researcher employed by the Labor Hygiene Section of the Institute of Labor Safety and Health, Council of Labor Affairs, Executive Yuan (2007/03-2009/03), an assistant researcher employed by the Occupational Health Research Section of the Institute of Labor and Occupational Safety and Health, Ministry of Labor (2013/03-2014/03), a technician employed by the Industrial Counseling Division of the Economic Development Bureau, Kaohsiung City Government (2015/05-2015/09), and a technician employed by the National Defense Council. 2015/09), Associate Researcher, TCCIP Project, National Center for Disaster Prevention Science and Technology (2015/10-2016/01), Manager, Institute of Materials and Chemical Research, Industrial Technology Research Institute (seconded to the Ministry of Economic Affairs, 2018/04-2020/08).
