Idrissa Ouedraogo is an Assistant Professor of Development Economics at Thomas Sankara University, Burkina Faso. He is a development economist with extensive research experience in the areas of governance and institutional economics, human development, welfare economics, and regional integration in Africa. He has authored several academic contributions exploring the interactions between governance, human capital, and inclusive growth in Africa. His work emphasizes that sustainable and inclusive development must be grounded in strong institutions, good governance, and the enhancement of human development. He holds a Master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Governance and Regional Integration from the Pan African University–African Union Commission and the University of Yaoundé II, Cameroon. He also obtained a Master’s degree in Applied Economics from the University of Yaoundé II and another Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Rennes 1, France.
He has gained professional experience in several institutions, notably in the Department of Regional Integration (DRI) of the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development (MINEPAT) in Yaoundé, Cameroon; the Department of Economic Orientation, Finance and Economic Conditions of the Economic and Social Council in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso; the Centre for Effective Global Action (CEGA) and the Berkeley Initiative for Transparency in the Social Sciences in California, United States; the Department of Economic and Social Integration of the Pan-African Centre–Initiatives for the Sahel in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso; and KALUBE Consults Limited in Kampala, Uganda. He has also carried out consultancy work for the United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research in Finland and the African Development Bank in Côte d’Ivoire.
