IDL3K is an elevator enthusiast from Indonesia. A 26-year old person from Jakarta who have been interested in elevators and other kinds of vertical transportation since around 2 or 3 years old, I have been filming elevators in many places and countries since 10 January 2009, after accidentally discovering a unique community called “elevator community” on YouTube back in late 2008.
At that time I did not opened a YouTube channel due to personal reasons. Finally on 15 May 2012, I decided to open my YouTube channel with the name SchindlerLift1874 (also known as SL74). Since then, I become part of the YouTube elevator community, both local and international.
On 19 June 2014, SL74 changed its name to IDLift3000 Productions (now simply known as IDLift3000). This also changed the name of my current YouTube channel.
Since 2019, my elevator filming and exploration have been broaden overseas as I work abroad. However, I still occasionally film elevators in Indonesia.
To mark the 10th anniversary of my YouTube channel, IDLift3000 was renamed to IDL3K with a brand new logo on 15 May 2022.

Most people will probably think elevator filming is a very strange hobby, but it's actually very unique. An elevator enthusiast is basically like people who loves taking pictures of trains, buses, or whatever they love. So it's always good to respect them, not discriminate them.
It all started when I was around 2 or 3 years old (can't really remember though), when my grandmother took me for a ride in a scenic elevator in Pondok Indah Mall 1, Jakarta. At first I was afraid, but there was something that makes me liked and interested in elevators, which, even today I still don't know what exactly it was. Maybe because it was very fun riding it or it was fascinating seeing it going up and down? I am not sure - it's a bit weird though.
Anyway, this particular elevator (aka my "childhood elevator") that made me interested in elevator is still standing STRONG today in the shopping mall, and has been serving customers faithfully since it was first commissioned in 1991! It is a very rare hydraulic elevator made by Dong Yang Elevator Co. Ltd. from South Korea (went defunct after it was bought by ThyssenKrupp in 2003), installed in 1991 by a now defunct local distributor called Pura Kencana. This is quite a memorable elevator since this is the very first elevator I've ever ridden in my entire life.Hopefully the elevator would stay for a much longer time!
See the video of the elevator below!
The elevator that started my interest in elevators!
The answer is simple, YouTube.
It was in late 2008 when I was browsing some videos on YouTube and I suddenly had the idea to browse for elevator videos in there. So I typed "hitachi elevator" on the search bar and this video was the first one appeared on the top of the list. It was the very first elevator video I've ever watched on YouTube!
Later I started watching more elevator videos from several elevator enthusiasts such as Dieselducy, escalatorgeek881 (channel closed, sadly), harrihealy02, bearchoirfan and few others. From there I started to become more and more interested to film elevators and escalators. One of the videos that made me interested to film elevators and escalators was this one:
Note: The original video above has sadly gone because the owner of the said video (escalatorgeek881) closed his channel for unknown reason, but fortunately someone else have managed to backup it onto another channel for "archive" reason. Thank you!
Despite the fact that I started filming elevators on 10 January 2009, I did not open a YouTube channel yet due to an undisclosed reason. It wasn't until 15 May 2012 that I finally decided to open a YouTube channel, and began uploading my videos that I've recorded between 2009 and 2012.
I'm now using the following devices to film elevators:
Samsung Galaxy A53 5G (since 1 August 2022) – primary
Sony Cybershot DSC-W830 (since February 2020) – secondary, currently not used
