Career History
Assistant Professor, Maastricht University, NL, Department of Data Analytics & Digitalisation; Since Nov.2024
Lecturer, Maastricht University, NL, Department of Data Analytics & Digitalisation; Sept.2021--Oct.2024
Visiting Professor, China Agricultural University, CN, International College Beijing; Sept.2015-Aug.2021
Post-doc, National Technical University of  Athens, GR, School of Applied Mathematical & Physical Sciences, Department of Mathematics; Jan.2015--Dec.2015
I received my PhD in Pure Mathematics from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, in 2015 under the supervision of Prof. Sofia Lambropoulou. My thesis focused on computing the HOMFLYPT skein module of the lens spaces L(p,1) through braids.Â
In 2015, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Technical University of Athens, as part of the research program "THALES" (MIS 380154), co-financed by Greece and the EU. This program involved 56 researchers globally. That same year, I joined Prof. S. Lambropoulou and B. Gabrovšek for a "Research in Pairs" project at MFO Oberwolfach, Germany.
From September 2015 to August 2021, I served as a Visiting Professor at China Agricultural University (CAU), which ranks 3rd globally in agriculture. During my time there, I received two teaching awards (June 2018, June 2019) and two research awards (March 2017, November 2020). CAU is part of China's prestigious "211" and "985" initiatives.
In July 2016, I was a member of the organizing committee for "Knots in Hellas", an international conference on knot theory held at the International Olympic Academy in Ancient Olympia, Greece. In 2019, I published Sequences and Series, a monograph on mathematical analysis, which originated from lectures I delivered at CAU. That same year, I co-organized a seminar on low-dimensional topology with Prof. Xiaojun.
From September 2021 to November 2024, I have been a tenured Lecturer at the School of Business and Economics, Maastricht University, in the Department of Data Analytics and Digitalisation & I obtained my University Teaching Qualification (UTQ) from Maastricht University in November 2024. Since November 2024, I am an Assistant Professor (with tenure) at UM.
In December 2022, I was invited as a plenary speaker for the 2nd Russia-China Conference on Topology and Combinatorics. In February 2023, I gave a talk at the Mathematics Development Forum at Southeast University, Nanjing, China.
In 2024, I became the Executive Director of the Mathematics Center Maastricht (MCM) for the School of Business and Economics at Maastricht University. This year, I am also serving as a guest editor for the special issue "Mathematical Modeling of Complex Entangled Structures" in the journal Mathematics (Q1, CiteScore: 4, Impact Factor: 2.3, 2024-2025).
In 2025, De Gruyter publishers will release my co-authored monograph Knot Theory of Lens Spaces (De Gruyter Expositions in Mathematics), written in collaboration with Profs. Sofia Lambropoulou, Boštjan Gabrovšek, and Maciej Mroczkowski.
In 2025, I will co-organize the international conference "The Theory of Periodic Tangles and Their Interdisciplinary Applications" at Tohoku University, following a successful Junior Research Program application.Â
I am a reviewer for Mathematical Reviews/MathSciNet and Zentralblatt MATH, and I serve as a referee for several prestigious journals, including Topology and Its Applications (Elsevier), Journal of Knot Theory and Its Ramifications (World Scientific), Communications in Mathematical Physics (Springer) and Symmetry (Mdpi).
