Soldiers at a base in the North receiving hot plates, urns, siddurim, zemirot, and refreshments
מי ששומר שבת כהלכה נמחלים לו כל עוונות
There is a need for several Shabbos necessities for army bases
all over the country – but especially at/near the front
Due to the high number of reserves’ the army cannot provide all Shabbos necessities for their bases. Therefore, the following items are requested by both the IDF-rabbinate and individual bases with soldiers who are Shomer Shabbos:
Hot plates - פלטות
Hot water urns / kumkums - מיחמים
We currently have requests for:
- 20+ hot plates
- 20+ hot urns
1 huge hot plate = 100 NIS*
1 urn (12 liter / 60 cups) = 180,- NIS*
*Prices are based on cheapest availability - currently at sale in Osher Ad. In most stores they are about 50 - 80 NIS more expensive.
Strenghten the army’s Shemiras Shabbos and give them a shemira by donating to this cause!
With your help we B"H managed to deliver 75 big platot and 62 kumkums (hot water urns) to soldiers at every border of Israel.
Shabbos meals & refreshments
Oneg Shabbos: We also send refreshments (snacks, popcorn, pitzuchim/nuts, candies, etc) to 2 specific army bases at the front in the North (about 300 soldiers), and even more in the South - including to bases near Gaza; from where commanders also take our refreshments and bring them to their units stationed in Gaza.
Shabbos meals (mehadrin) for a unit in the South is also arranged by a group of volunteers.
Weekday & Shabbos meals: A small group of Haredi soldiers serving at a base in the far North don't have any Mehadrin food available. Until we were in touch with them they literally only lived from vegetables. We are providing these Haredi soldiers with kosher mehadrin food for both during the week and Shabbos.
All of our drivers are volunteers who pay for the gasoline from their own pockets. They don't want to get paid other than the merit of helping out our soldiers.
So, any financial support would be greatly appreciated!
