"IT'S LIKE MY MOTIVATION HAS LEFT WITH THE FALLING LEAVES"

IDENTITY ERROR is a new wave of heavy music hailing from Naarm (Melbourne), Australia. 

Formed in 2022, Identity Error blends a mix of hardcore and metalcore influences fuelled by blistering riffs, pummelling rhythms and cathartic vocals. Inspired by the likes of their local scene peers, as well as international modern contemporary heavyweights such as END and Boundaries, Identity Error channels their passion and energy into every performance, which will leave audiences breathless and wanting more.

In 2023, Identity Error debuted their 2-track "Retribution Awaits" - a relentless two-track offering recorded by Lewis Noke Edwards of the metal outfit, RUN that showcases their explosive sound and uncompromising attitude. From the body crushing intro of "Box Cutter" to the unrelenting closer of "Veil of Gold", the double single is a testament to the band's ferocity.

Moving on in 2024, the train is still running express to the next station: The release of their second upcoming 2-track titled "Declaration of Decay" in the early New Year as well as several shows containing devestatingly crushing lineups: notably supporting the incredible SEEYOUSPACECOWBOY (USA) on their sideshow in February, and opening the Melbourne made heavy festival Perish Fest 2024.

Another mid-year release sees the band working with Christopher Vernon to record "Ivory Tower" continuing the momentum with more sonic aggression, and supporting other acts such as VOLATILE WAYS (NSW), TERMINAL SLEEP and TO THE GRAVE (NSW) on various shows, and finally ending the year with a slam filled release "Atrophy".

2025 sees no end to this momentum with the melodic single release of "Frailty" off the upcoming anticipated EP and the first show of the year supporting the undeniable heavyweights BODYSNATCHER (USA), followed by an all ages festival Your Locals (NSW) located interstate Western Sydney as well as their first ever SOLD OUT HEADLINER at Nighthawks Bar, Fitzroy venue in March. Fast forward several months and JUSTICE FOR THE DAMNED (NSW) had invited the band to open the Melbourne leg of their "Stay Relentless" release show.

In the latter half of 2025, the band independently releases the 7 track EP "You Still Have Tomorrow", being their most deeply personal and best musical form yet. The EP showcases the growth and footing of the band, as well as the nods from each members influences and inspiration.

The EP provided an opportunity to co-headline a tour with fellow friends and band TAKOBA (NSW) across NSW to great reception.

IDENTITY ERROR will always be for the misfits, the outsiders, the lonely, and to those who never fit in.
