The Smart Cities themed Ideathon marked a milestone in the pursuit of innovative urban solutions. Over the course of the event, participants from various departments collaborated in teams, showcasing their creativity and problem-solving skills.
At the inauguration of the Smart Cities themed Ideathon, the participants were provided with a comprehensive presentation on Design thinking and Smart Cities. This session, with Vibha as the Emcee, aimed to furnish participants with essential frameworks and methodologies vital for navigating the complexities of urban development effectively. The presentation given by Adrian, Dave, and Chris, covered topics ranging from The Steps of Design Thinking to the inception of Smart Cities, along with a project on Waste to Energy Microgrid, providing them with inspiration and insights.
The judge of the Event was Dr. Sonia D’souza Associate Professor, AIML Department. Round 1 kicked off the Ideathon, setting the tone for a journey of empathetic exploration. Participants dove deep into understanding the intricate challenges faced by urban communities, fostering a profound connection with the issues at hand.
Through empathy and definition, they laid a solid foundation of genuine understanding, priming themselves for the inventive burst to come. By the judges' discretion, Round 2 was not held. All 13 teams were judged based on the performance of Round 1.
The Prize Distribution for the same was held on the next day at room A008 for the Winners, with prizes given by the judge and the faculty coordinator.
The Ideathon proved to be a transformative experience for participating students, offering them invaluable opportunities for growth, learning, and networking. Throughout the event, students were immersed in a dynamic environment that encouraged collaboration and innovation.
They had the chance to work alongside students from various branches, gaining insights and perspectives that went beyond the confines of traditional classroom learning.
