A crucial role was played by a game streamer, Forsen who introduced this emote on Twitch for the viewers to get entertained through such a humorous character. Contrary to his intentions, he himself became a topic of contempt by the users who initially hated this move and started commenting “FOR SAAAAAN” to show that he had been foolish but then accepted it like most things today are.

If you are a gaming fanatic or an active Twitch user, it’s likely that you would have come across an emote of a deformed face of a frog named Pepe. This fictional character is Pepega which has been around since 2018 and has a humorous origin.
A user by the name Adew wanted to share the emote of this frog on Discord, an information sharing platform similar to Twitch where communities working for a cause or organisation are linked to spread ideas. The keyword to share the emote is ‘Pepega’ which is to be written as :Pepega: according to the typical Discord syntax. However, he forgot the second colon which was rectified by another user and that is how, the emote of this distorted green-coloured frog came to light.
Usage
It is now being increasingly used to indicate a ‘retard’ or as a means to ridicule someone or something in memes. It is also used in Twitch where gamers go live streaming their play online and the audience viewing them makes use of various versions of this emote to comment anything they feel like.
