Teacher Educator Workshops
Idaho Thespians is offering a TEACHER WORKSHOP this year to ALL theater teachers in High School or Middle School. We recognize the need for hands on professional development training and want to start this year by offering you something you can take back to your classroom and put to use immediately.
WHAT:
Idaho Thespians, Idaho State University, and College of Southern Idaho are joining forces to bring you an exciting weekend of hands on training. Joel Shura, a professor at ISU will be offering two different full day workshops, Clowning Techniques that can transform your actors on stage, and Long Form Improvisation that will develop your students focus and ability to stay in the moment. Those wishing to take both workshops will be eligible for 1 credit of Professional Development from ISU ($55).
WHY:
These workshops are being formulated to not just give you hands on experience in the topic, but to also prepare you and show you how to teach it to your students THIS YEAR! (This isn't your average master class). We have all sat in a workshop for 90min and said, "Wow that's so cool, but I just don't know how I would teach that to my kids this year." This workshop will show you on how to introduce the topic step by step to your students with the emphasis on the pedagogy.

COST:
One workshop $50 (Lunch included), Both workshops $60 (Lunch included). All monies from this workshop go to pay for our teaching artist's hotel, and food for the two days. Current Troupe Directors will get a $5 discount. Those wanting their professional development credit from ISU will need to pay an additional $55 using the ISU registration system.
