Idaho Falls Bridge Builders
Our mission is to assist legal refugees who choose to relocate to Idaho Falls, and to assist the community in welcoming them.
In April 2022, through the Operation Allies Welcome program, the Idaho Falls Bridge Builders Sponsor Circle welcomed three Afghan Air Force pilots, allies of the US military operation, to Idaho Falls. They were the first refugees in Idaho Falls since the Refugee Act of 1980. The community response has been so overwhelmingly positive that we formed this non-profit to continue supporting these three men and future refugees.
In February 2023, a three-generational family arrived through the Uniting for Ukraine program.
In 2024, three more pilots from the Afghan Air Force, originally resettled in other locations in the US, voluntarily chose to relocate to Idaho Falls. All six pilots are married men, and as of November, two of their wives have been able to join them. The other four wives, two of whom have small children, are navigating the long and arduous process of legal immigration to the US.
We are not showing photos of any of the newcomers or giving information that could identify them on this website, for their privacy and the safety of their families in their countries of origin.
