Iowa Interactive Investments, or "I-Cubed," is dedicated to developing undergraduate finance students’ investment skills through a structured, mentor-led curriculum and collaborative group discussions. This approach prepares members with the technical and analytical skills necessary for success in finance.
I-Cubed holds weekly meetings every Thursday for members to discuss and collaborate on investment strategy, current events in the market, and corporate finance strategy. In the Fall semester, meetings will provide mentorship from upperclassmen and guidance through various projects, case studies, and learning material to prepare younger members for the internal stock pitch competition. In the Spring semester, meetings will focus on the internal stock pitch competition and preparation for the Undergraduate Investment Conference held in Ann Arbor, MI by Michigan Interactive Investments.
By focusing on mentorship from upperclassmen with industry experience, new members will be able to have access to invaluable resources and learning opportunities from experienced individuals in order to better equip them for roles in investment banking, private equity, and hedge funds.
New members of the organization undergo a comprehensive curriculum designed to cultivate a strong foundation in value investing and foster "The Investor's Mindset." Our mentors guide participants through essential topics, including financial accounting, corporate finance, valuation, and industry economics. Members are strongly encouraged to engage with our curated reading list to see the principles discussed in meetings applied in real-world scenarios.
