CODE OF CONDUCT
The following codes of conduct explain and clearly state all expectations for each player, player family, and coach in order to promote a positive youth sports environment for everyone. Please remember that cooperation and communication are of utmost importance. A good faith effort to resolve all concerns and conflicts must be discussed among the parties involved, using the tenets of the codes of conduct as guiding principles, before bringing a complaint to the board, except in cases with immediate safety concerns. Inappropriate and demeaning comments from players, player family members, or coaches will not be tolerated.
Coaches are encouraged to review the Player Code of Conduct with their players on a regular basis.
Player Code of Conduct
All Trojans Youth Baseball Club players will conduct themselves in a manner fitting to their age level and maturity, and with respect and consideration for the rights of their fellow players, coaches, umpires, and spectators.
Value every teammate regardless of performance, talent, experience, or size
Be a good sport and have a winning attitude whether you win or lose
Represent the Trojans Youth Baseball Club well by respecting umpires, members of the opposing team, and the host facilities
Prioritize attendance at all practices, games, and tournaments
Be proud of your team and give only positive encouragement to your teammates in practice, games, and tournaments
Be a good teammate by giving your best effort at practices, games, and tournaments
Follow the rules of the game
Player Family Code of Conduct
All Trojans Youth Baseball Club player families are expected to support the Player Code of Conduct and will conduct themselves in a manner consistent with those principles.
Value every team member regardless of performance, talent, experience, or size
Encourage good sportsmanship and model positive behavior before, during, and after the game
Represent the Trojans Youth Baseball Club well by respecting umpires, members of the opposing team, and the host facilities
Enable your player to attend practices, games, and tournaments
Promote team unity by speaking highly of and encouraging all team members
Expect your player to follow the rules of the game
Reserving a roster spot for your player is an agreement to pay all club and team fees unless other arrangements have been made
Coach Code of Conduct
All Trojans Youth Baseball Club coaches are expected to support the Player Code of Conduct and will conduct themselves in a manner that best serves the interests of players, parents, and Trojans Youth Baseball.
Value every team member regardless of performance, talent, experience, or size. Strive to give all players similar playing time, plate appearances, and critical roles over the course of a season.
Provide instruction in a manner that is constructive and supportive.
Encourage good sportsmanship and model positive behavior before, during, and after the game
Know the rules and expect team members to follow them
Represent the Trojans Youth Baseball Club well by respecting umpires, members of the opposing team, and host facilities. Take steps to minimize running up the score in games where your team is clearly dominant.
Refrain from engaging in arguments or confronting umpires, coaches, spectators, or any players.
Collaborate with parents to optimize individual player performance and physical/mental well-being
