I am indeed very happy to note that the Department of Physics and Astronomical Sciences, Central University of Jammu is organizing a two-day “International Conference on Physics for Sustainable Development” on April 04-05, 2024.

A conference of such nature provides a great opportunity for the scientific community, not only to update knowledge and keep abreast with the latest developments in the field of experimental and theoretical physics but also an occasion for the invited speakers, delegates, and participants to exchange ideas and interact with each other.

I am sure that this two-day International Conference will go a long way in providing an opportunity for young scholars to explore their talent. I take this opportunity to extend my best wishes to the eminent speakers and delegates registered for the conference.

It is a matter of pride and satisfaction that the Department of Physics and Astronomical Sciences is organizing a two-day “International Conference on Physics for Sustainable Development” on April 04-05, 2024. 

Scientific knowledge and its utility are the driving force of the socio-economic development of any nation. Scientific temper sustained and coordinated efforts in the field of basic sciences are the basic requirements to translate scientific discoveries into the welfare of the common masses. With these objectives in mind, we need to improve the quality of scientific teaching/research and integration of various streams of science.

I hope that the conference provides a good opportunity for the faculty members/research scholars and students to discuss and learn about the recent advances and developments made in both experimental and theoretical Physics. I also believe that young students will get exposure to the rapid strides made in Science and Technology and more importantly to use scientific advancement for the amelioration of pain and removal of poverty.
