Welcome Message from the President, CPathAMM
First and foremost, congratulations to the Organising Committee of the International Congress of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine 2018 led by Prof Leong Chooi-Fun for realising this highly anticipated event. This conference is special to all of us in the College as this is the third international congress organised by the College since its birth on 22nd June, 1999. It is an opportunity for participants from Malaysia to meet fellow workers from all over the World.
The theme of this Congress is “Frontiers in Diagnostic Pathology”. It is timely for us to examine these frontiers as we move into the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which will touch every aspect of human life. Healthcare will be increasingly technology driven and dominated by artificial intelligence and big data analytics. Pathologists must rise to the occasion and stay relevant. We must remain the master in exploiting digital technology and its web of activities for the benefits of patients, where personalised medicine and point-of-care diagnostics would the order of the day.
This conference provides a platform for discussion from scientific developments to clinical applications, through our invited speakers who are experts of the respective field. Medicine is pathology; the issues covered will be of relevance and interest to everyone, from scientists to medical practitioners.
Last but not least, it gives me great pleasure to warmly welcome you to this Congress held in Bangsar South, a prestigious location in the west of tropical Kuala Lumpur. My sincere appreciation to all the sponsors as well as the exhibitors for their generous support to make this meeting a successful one.

Welcome Message from the Organising Chairperson
On behalf of the Organising Committee of ICPaLM 2018, I would like to welcome you to our 2nd International Congress of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine (ICPaLM) to be held on 28-30 June 2018 at Connexion Conference & Event Centre – The Vertical at Bangsar South.
The theme for this year’s conference is “Frontiers in Diagnostic Pathology”, we hope to broaden our knowledge on the latest information and technologies in the diagnosis of old and new diseases. These may help to better stratify and prognosticate as well as for monitoring of diseases responses; beside learning and sharing our knowledge related to diagnostic pathology, we would like to highlight the other important aspect of quality and safety in healthcare services in this meeting.
This conference will provide a platform for us to refresh our knowledge base but more importantly to explore the advances and innovations in diagnostic pathology. We hope to provide you with the opportunity to meet up with old friends and make new networking with leading researchers and experts.
Once again, on behalf of the organising committee, I would like to thank our invited speakers for taking their precious time off their busy schedule to share with us their knowledge and experiences; to all the participants, we hope you all will join us and have a wonderful and fruitful meeting.
