“Navigating the Path Towards Net Zero Carbon Emission by 2050”
The urgency to address complex global challenges and build a sustainable future has never been greater. As we approach the mid-21st century, the call to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 becomes increasingly critical to securing a healthy, stable, and sustainable planet.
The conference, “Navigating the Path Towards Net Zero Carbon Emission by 2050”, brings together researchers, policymakers, educators, and environmental advocates to collaboratively chart a course toward a carbon-neutral future. Participants will exchange insights, share innovative projects, programs, and policies, and build networks to drive transformative change over the next three decades. This event also marks PSSN’s 25 years of dedicated contribution to the global net zero movement, reinforcing its commitment to a sustainable future.
ICoNSIE 2025 aims to:
(a) identify the wicked problems that must be addressed to achieve net zero by 2050
(b) present innovative research, emerging technologies, and practices that can mitigate environmental problems and promote sustainability
(c) enhance interdisciplinary collaboration
(d) discuss strategies and policy frameworks that can initiate a shift in local, national, and global environmental awareness; and
(e) strengthen the camaraderie of the Society’s membership
Decarbonization and Resilience Building – This subtheme accepts papers that discuss innovative approaches, policies, and solutions driving the transition to net-zero emissions by 2050 while simultaneously strengthening the resilience of societies and systems to climate impacts.
Biodiversity in Net Zero Carbon Emission Planning, Policy, and Governance – This subtheme accepts papers that present the integration of biodiversity considerations into net-zero carbon emission planning, policy development, and governance frameworks to ensure nature-positive climate actions.
Sustainable Development Goals and Decarbonization – This subtheme accepts papers that explain the synergies and trade-offs between decarbonization efforts and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), highlighting integrated approaches for just and sustainable transitions.
Transformative Technologies for the Net Zero Emission Transition – This subtheme accepts papers that discuss cutting-edge technologies and innovations driving the transition to net-zero emissions, including their potential, scalability, and implications for sustainable development.
The conference will highlight keynote speeches, plenary talks, panel discussions, parallel paper presentations, and poster sessions. It will create opportunities for participants to engage with experts, participate in interactive sessions, and networking with peers.
