Icon Unicode

When I am trying to format a cell based on conditions (conditional formatting), there is an option to use customized icons. The prompt indicates it must be a valid unicode glyph. I tried to paste different unicode glyphs and they are all coming up as invalid. Can you tell me the format of what needs to be entered or a list of what is available?

Hi Max. I hope its okay that I am coming into this conversation so late. I am stuck having the same problem. I am trying to get the icons $ and % in my conditional formatting settings for a KPI box, so that depending on the metric that is chosen via a Parameter and Control, the correct icon will display in the KPI box.

First off, as of this post, IE and Edge only fully support the WOFF font file format. Great news considering WOFF and WOFF2 are the smallest sized font file formats, yay! Bad news, you need to use the unicode to call the glyph.

I was able to pretty much fix my problem. I made edits to the rxvt-unicode.desktop file changing the icon to one of my choosing. At that point I was able to see the new icon when loading rxvt-unicode from the unity launcher or sidebar. One thing I noticed though is if I use another terminal to launch rxvt-unicode it still shows the old icon. Not sure yet why that is happening. This only has become a problem because I created a keyboard shortcut to make Super+q launch a terminal and it does that through the terminal as far as I can tell.

I'm trying to get a config of lemonbar running, and I'm seeing some really weird behavior in the icons. This particular config uses what I assume are Unicode icons in the bar - for example, "\ue205" for a beamed sixteenth note icon. When I try to echo "\ue205" in my terminal, though, I get a blank box. When I look up the Unicode information for that icon, I find this page, which tells me that the Unicode value for that icon is 266c, not e205. If I look up Unicode information about e205, I find that apparently it's not a valid character. If I try to use "\u266c" in the script for the panel, no icon at all shows up in the panel, not even a blank box. But "\u266c" shows up in my terminal as the correct icon.

I'm using the same font in the panel as in my terminal (terminus font). The script is written in sh, and I've tried sh -c with the echo. Why is there a discrepancy in the icons I'm seeing in the panel and my terminal? How can I use Unicode icons in the panel? At the very least, how can I make sense of what icons the panel is using so I can pick from those?

Turns out I had the stlarch font installed, and you were right, it was doing a font fallback. I downloaded xfd to look at the full table for stlarch and got the icons in my panel sorted. Thank you so much for the help!

So, instead of the icons that have a rounded shaded square around them, I would like to change them out for the minimalistic version. I found some unicode numbers on , but not sure how to use them to change the social icons.

I came across a weird behavior.

When i launch my basicUI the moonphase looks this way:

You see there are just ??? displayed.

At the beginning this was normal for me and i thought i need to look into it later and have done some mistake with saving the file in utf8 etc.

This is then giving me the 2 Questionmarks.

So my feeling is OH may have some trouble with unicode 4.0 - 6.0. Or is it the used zulu java engine in openhabian 1.2? I have no chance currently to test if it works better with the oracle engine, but maybe one of you have an idea.

The Apex with 2 horizontal bars is surely the most sophisticated, simplest and most elegant cryptocurrency symbol out there! It LOOKS like the future of exchange and money. It makes the bitcoin symbol look like a letterpress icon from the wild west!

We have used Font Awesome icons in our designs. The developers are unable to identify the icons that are used on the design as it does not show the unicode in the properties. And our design team is not able to identify the icons either as the icon names are not displayed anywhere. Copying the glyph and pasting in FontAwesome does not work. We have a lot of icons used in the file and we really need a solution for this. Can you please help?

Hey @Srish - When using the typeface files for Font Awesome, the only real way to get the icon name is to double-click in the text box itself and then copy the icon. You can then past the result into something like Text Edit, which will show you the name of the icon.

This solution did not work for us either. We had to manually search for the icons in FontAwesome website and copy paste the unicode to the figma file for our devs. Please let me know if you find a better solution. Thanks!

In the content property of the pseudo-element class, it uses unicode characters like content: "\f004"; for the heart. Simply changing that value to some other unicode character (you can get this from their site) will change the icon to something else.

For example, \f005 is a star.

Currently im working on a Lilygo T5 screen and im busy with using the openweathermnap weather codes.

These codes have a matching unicode font. now im not a big programmer and i have trouble displaying them. when ik print one of the fonts on the lilygo screen its displayed multiple times instead of once. im sure im making a mestake somewhere with calling the unicode icon but i dont know where. Bits of the code i use are below.

I am looking to see if there is a way to use CSS to make a specific unicode symbol, U+27DE, bigger. I have tried using a CSS snippet and defining a font face with the symbol in the unicode range but have had no luck so far.

Glad to hear you found a work around for getting icons into the legacy tables.

I'm in the same situation - but I can't even manage to copy/paste the icons into the Mapped value field.

When I try it just pastes the icon text value. i.e. '/icon:bold/interface-alert-warning-triangle'

Can you please explain how you copy/pasted it (where from?) and I'll see if I can replicate your steps?

Yes, you should use universal unicode emoji's.

Google 'unicode emoji', you get several websites with a list of the emoji's and how they look like in different situations (google/android/browser, etc.)

This plugin was previously using FontAwesome icons for some menu items, which can conflict with other plugins also loading the same library. I removed the FontAwesome icons from the plugin so it now uses default WordPress icons throughout.

The String class is expecting UTF-8 characters, but compilers have no idea what type of encoding your text editor was using when you saved the source-file, and they'll make an assumption which is generally going to be wrong. So most likely, the encoding is going to get garbled somewhere between your editor, the compiler, and the library classes. The ONLY cross-platform way to embed a unicode string into C++ source code is by dumbing it down to ASCII + escape characters. That's a pain to write by hand, but luckily if you fire up the Introjucer and use its "UTF-8 String Literal Helper" tool, it'll do all the messy stuff for you, and convert any unicode string into a safe C++ expression that you can paste into your code, e.g.

The PUA range is a non-standardized range of Unicode that allows font developers to define their own characters. My thought on a solution to this is that the unicode character only needs to be on the link description. When you add the module entry as an external url you get to put the item name in one area and the url(the video) link in another. Just create your panopto video without the icon and use that name for the link.

I really wish there was a full list of all the icons available, and all their associated search terms that work within Divi. That way I could just copy the code in to use inline with text! Font-awesome had this, it was much better.

I am new to WordPress and what not. I have a WordPress that I am setting up and it has a setting within the WordPress that allows me to choose from your main icons and just type the icon class name such as icon_check or icon_map_alt and it will show up in the proper location. I think this is great for most cases, however I have 12 personal icons that I need to be put into some of those spots and cant find away to incorporate them into your current icon set. e24fc04721
