ABOUT ICOMB
Icomb is an ancient Cotswold village. According to Wikipedia "Icomb is a village in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds, near to Stow on the Wold. The population taken at the 2011 census was 202. The village appears as Iacumbe in the Domesday Book. The Church of St Mary is the parish church which has a Norman north doorway and an Early English south porch and doorway dating from around 1249. It is a grade I listed building."
THE ICOMB COMMUNITY
As stated above there are around 200 Icomb residents, many of whom are "weekenders" who live and work elsewhere during the week. Nevertheless there is a great community spirit as evidenced by the social life around the parish church and the village hall. There are a couple of village Whatsapp groups.
The village has a Parish Meeting which is open to all residents. It is usually held twice a year. Unlike a Parish Council, at the "Parish Meeting" with its two officers ("Chair" and Secretary"), all residents can vote on a motion.
The village has its own defibrillator (AED) which is located outside the village hall to the left of the door under the porch.
