Gain an understanding of the basic math behind cryptography, as well as familiarizing ourselves with asymmetric, symmetric and ECC methods. Begin research of the network protocol layer.

Conclude research of the network protocol layer. Begin literature review concerning IoT and information centric networking (ICN). Expand our research tree by exploring the references of initial published papers.

Learned basic math and algorithms of cryptography, more specifically ECC and block ciphers.

Looked at digital signatures, specifically RSA and DSA and learned basics behind IP routing networks. Began looking at literature concerning ECC in ICN as well as previous security research. Created an initial network scenario within healthcare.

Creation of topology for use in ndnSIM. Attempts to implement security from the default ndnSIM libraries. Also attempted to import separate ndn libraries which would utilize encryption. This was for the purpose of encrypting data for authentication.

Found that measurement of encryption times were not possible in ndnSIM. Attempted to use OpenSSL to simulate encryption and time, however complications and limited time cause us to run only baseline simulations without encryption. The poster was also assembled during this time. Paper started.
