The 2025 Intercontinental Mathematical Olympiad (ICMO) is a global math competition for high school students. It is a mathematical extracurricular activity that aims to identify and support talented students by testing their skills in advanced problem-solving and mathematical reasoning.
Important Details:
Eligibility: Open to high school students in grades 8-12 worldwide.
Exam Date: January 2025 (specific date will be announced after the application deadline). All students must take the exam on the assigned date and time; there is only one chance.
Application Deadline: November 30, 2024.
Mode of Examination: Online Proctored Examination & Physical (for DC, Maryland, Virginia, and London Residents). Cheating is not tolerated. Anyone who cheats will be identified and exposed publicly and their names will be circulated. Do not cheat.
Registration Fee: Free, with late fees for registrations post-deadline.

Top performers receive medals, cash prizes, and scholarship opportunities to join the institute's advanced certificate programs which offer upper-level college classes and a chance to complete supervised research projects and write academic papers.
Examination Syllabus: The contest challenges participants with a series of problem-solving tasks via multiple choice questions, fill-in-the-blanks questions, show-your-working questions, or a combination of these. The contest will assess knowledge across various mathematical areas, including algebra, trigonometry, geometry, linear equations, limits, complex numbers, combinatorics/discrete mathematics/number theory, integral calculus, and probability. Students must apply theoretical concepts to solve practical problems and demonstrate advanced problem-solving skills.
