Starting in 2022, the ICMAM PRIZE is awarded to one or more outstanding Latin American mathematicians for fundamental contributions in pure and applied mathematics as well as for his/her/their contributions to the international visibility of the Latin American mathematical community. Candidates for the award may be nominated especially by members of the ICMAM board, but may also apply by themselves.

Carlos E. Kenig has been one of the most influential and prolific analysts in the last decades. The deep and broad range of his research accomplishments includes many exceptional and seminal contributions. These are primarily in harmonic analysis and partial differential equations and the far reaching connection between them.
By all the contributions of Carlos Kenig to mathematics and his impact to the international mathematical community it is our pleasure to announce him as the winner of the ICMAM Prize 2024.
