Deep connections between group actions and dynamics go back to seminal work of Dennis Sullivan on boundary actions of Kleinian groups and work on amenable actions of Grigorchuk groups in 1980s. Interplay between geometry of buildings and dynamics was established by Ballman and Brin, where the group actions on Euclidean buildings are interpreted as Z^d actions. Possible generalisations to higher dimensions become very involved and require sophisticated results from several fields. Buildings have geometric, analytic, and algebraic aspects, so we aim to bring together a wide range of specialists and, in particular, experts in Z^d-actions. In particular, groups of partial isometries of the boundaries of buildings can be viewed as far reaching generalizations of Thompson groups, where there are still open questions on amenability. We also explore related questions of rigidity. Proofs of celebrated super rigidity results of Margulis are based on dynamical considerations. Margulis super rigidity was generalised by Gromov and Schoen for Euclidean buildings and Daskalopulus, Mese, Vdovina for hyperbolic buildings. Of significant interest is a development of superrigidity for boundary of the Euclidean and hyperbolic buildings of dimensions three of higher.
