Project Outcomes
1.1 Sri Lanka-Japan Joint research to develop a practical RRLL early warning (EW) system
1.2 Examine the performance of the developed RRLL EW system at two pilot sites.
1.3 Development of guidelines for RRLL EW system.
1.4 Capacity development of researchers/scientists.
2.1 Develop a Rainfall prediction system on mountain slopes using a "Multi-scale simulator for the Geo-environment (MSSG)"
2.2 Movements, groundwater levels, precipitations, etc. are measured at unstable soil masses in two pilot sites
2.3 Installing the MSSG model on a workstation at NBRO as a computing platform.
2.4 Developing a Mechanical model for predicting the initiation and motions of RRLLs.
2.5 Develop a RRLL EW system and the system is examined at two pilot sites.
2.6 Geophysical Investigation along the axis of the potential landslide at Athweltota.
3-1 Developing Augmented Reality Software by integrating geospatial and location databases.
3-2 Development of effective guidelines based on the knowledge obtained at the pilot sites.
3-3 Public education and capacity development among communities and local administration offices.
