If you want a lightweight, fun, and safe pair of headphones specifically designed for a child to sleep in without the bulk of electronics or noise cancellation, choose iClever HS20; if you need a powerful, feature-rich over-ear headset with active noise cancelling and long battery life for an adult traveler or commuter, choose Anker Soundcore.
These two devices occupy completely different lanes of the market, yet they both claim the "over-ear" space. The iClever HS20 is built around safety and comfort for young ears, utilizing a wired connection to eliminate charging anxiety while offering a playful cat-ear design. The Anker Soundcore Q20i is engineered for the modern adult who demands silence in chaotic environments, relying on Bluetooth 5.0 and hybrid active noise cancelling to create a private bubble anywhere from a plane cabin to a busy office. One is a toy-like accessory that prioritizes a secure fit and durability for kids; the other is a serious audio tool focused on sound fidelity, app customization, and all-day battery endurance.
• iClever HS20: Its biggest strength is its ultra-lightweight, wired design with a safe volume limit (SafeSound Tech) and a fun, non-intimidating aesthetic perfect for toddlers. Its trade-off is the lack of wireless freedom, no active noise cancellation, and a limited frequency response suited only for basic listening. This pick is strictly for parents buying a gift for a young child.
• Anker Soundcore Q20i: Its biggest strength is the hybrid active noise cancelling system and massive 40-hour battery life, allowing for deep immersion in music or podcasts without interruption. Its trade-off is a heavier build and more complex controls that might overwhelm a small user. This pick is for adults seeking high-fidelity audio and travel comfort.
The iClever HS20 is not designed to compete with high-end audiophile gear; it is built for a very specific demographic: toddlers and young children. The design philosophy here centers on safety and simplicity. The unit features a 3.5mm wired connectivity technology, which means there are no batteries to charge, no Bluetooth pairing issues, and no risk of the device dying mid-story. For parents managing screen time or travel with little ones, this reliability is invaluable. The headphones utilize SafeSound Technology, which caps the maximum volume to protect developing hearing—a critical feature that justifies the purchase for any parent concerned about their child's auditory health.

Physically, these headphones are constructed from Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), making them durable enough to survive drops and tugs but light enough for a small head. Weighing in at roughly 0.26 kg, they are substantial enough to stay on but light enough not to cause neck strain during extended use. The style includes LED lights shaped like cat ears, adding a layer of visual engagement that makes wearing headphones feel like play rather than a chore. The ear placement is over-ear, ensuring the drivers sit comfortably over the child's ears without clamping too hard, thanks to the flexible headband design.
However, the limitations are clear when looking at the technical sheet. The frequency range sits between 20Hz and 20KHz, which is standard but lacks the depth provided by larger drivers found in adult headphones. There is no active noise cancellation; the only noise control is the passive isolation provided by the over-ear cups. The controls are touch-based, which can sometimes be finicky for small fingers, though the wired nature ensures a direct signal path regardless of software glitches. If you are looking for the best bluetooth headphones for sleeping because you need a quiet environment, this is likely not the right tool unless your goal is simply to block out ambient light and noise passively for a child.
The Anker Soundcore Q20i targets a vastly different user: the adult commuter, the student, or the traveler who needs to shut out the world. The standout feature here is the Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling system, which employs two internal and two external microphones to detect and neutralize up to 90% of external noise. Whether you are sitting on a train, working in an open-plan office, or trying to focus in a noisy home, this technology creates a tangible difference in your listening experience. Unlike the wired iClever, the Soundcore offers full wireless freedom via Bluetooth 5.0, with a range of up to 10 meters, allowing you to move freely without being tethered to a device.
Battery life is another major pillar of this product's appeal. With ANC turned on, you get 40 hours of continuous playback, and switching to normal mode extends that to 60 hours. This longevity means you can go weeks between charges, a stark contrast to many competitors that require daily top-ups. The fast-charging capability is equally impressive; a mere five-minute charge provides four hours of listening time, saving you from the panic of a dead battery before a flight or commute. The 40mm dynamic drivers deliver what Anker calls "BassUp" technology, producing deep bass and detailed treble that appeals to those who enjoy rich, immersive audio experiences.
The design also accommodates long-term wear with a flexible headband and ear cups that rotate 90 degrees, allowing for a compact fold-up and a custom fit for various head shapes. The enclosure combines ABS and Polycarbonate materials for durability, while the weight of 9.12 ounces is slightly heavier than the iClever but necessary to house the battery and noise-cancelling components. You can further tailor the sound using the dedicated app, which offers 22 presets and a customizable EQ, plus three distinct modes: ANC, Normal, and Transparency. The Transparency mode is particularly useful for staying aware of surroundings, such as hearing announcements at a station or crossing a street safely. For anyone searching for the best noise cancelling over ear headphones for sleeping or travel, the ability to switch modes and customize the sound profile makes this a superior choice for adults.
• Best for Battery Life → Anker Soundcore: With 40 to 60 hours of playtime depending on the mode, the Soundcore crushes the iClever, which has no battery since it is wired.
• Best for Safety and Hearing Protection → iClever HS20: The SafeSound Tech volume limiter is a dedicated safety feature absent from the Soundcore, making it the only logical choice for young children.
• Best for Noise Isolation → Anker Soundcore: The Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling reduces up to 90% of external noise, whereas the iClever relies solely on passive physical isolation.
• Best for Wireless Freedom → Anker Soundcore: Bluetooth 5.0 allows untethered listening, while the iClever requires a 3.5mm cable connection to any device.
• Best for Comfort During Sleep (Adults) → Anker Soundcore: The adjustable fit, transparency mode, and soft padding make it suitable for longer rest periods where silence is needed.
• Best for Comfort During Sleep (Kids) → iClever HS20: The lighter weight and smaller form factor are specifically scaled for toddler heads, preventing the bulkiness that might disturb a child's sleep.
• Best for Audio Customization → Anker Soundcore: The companion app allows for deep EQ tweaking and preset selection, offering a level of sonic control the iClever cannot match.
• Best Value for Toddlers → iClever HS20: Given the specialized safety features and durable, simple design, it offers a tailored solution that generic adult headphones cannot provide.
In my opinion, if you are shopping for a child to help them drift off to sleep or to keep them entertained during a nap, the iClever HS20 is the clear winner. Its wired simplicity removes the stress of charging, and the volume limiting gives peace of mind regarding hearing safety. However, if you are an adult looking for the best bluetooth headphones for sleeping to block out snoring partners or traffic noise, the Anker Soundcore is the superior investment. The active noise cancelling and long battery life create a truly immersive environment that the iClever simply cannot replicate. I would buy the Anker Soundcore for myself because the ability to customize my sound and silence the world is essential for my daily routine, whereas the iClever serves a niche purpose that I do not personally need.
The Anker Soundcore uses active noise cancelling to significantly reduce ambient sounds like trains or fans, making it excellent for sleep. The iClever HS20 relies only on the physical seal of the ear cups, which blocks some noise but does not actively cancel engine hum or voices.
No, the iClever HS20 is a wired device that connects via a 3.5mm jack, so it draws power directly from your tablet or iPad and never needs a battery charge. The Anker Soundcore requires charging via USB-C but offers up to 60 hours of playtime on a single charge.
The Anker Soundcore generally offers richer sound with deeper bass due to its 40mm drivers and BassUp technology, along with app-based equalizer adjustments. The iClever HS20 provides clear stereo sound suitable for cartoons and stories but lacks the depth and customization of the Anker model.
Yes, the Soundcore supports dual connections via Bluetooth 5.0, allowing you to connect to two devices simultaneously, and offers low latency for video content. The iClever HS20 is also compatible with tablets and iPads via the wired jack, providing zero-latency audio for games without needing to worry about wireless interference.
