If you want reliable battery life, over-ear comfort, and a dedicated solution for kids or long travel sessions where calls are secondary to listening, choose iClever BTH20; if you need the absolute best open ear headphones for calls with advanced AI noise cancellation, high-fidelity audio, and modern Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity, choose Moondrop Space Travel 2.
These two devices sit at opposite ends of the wireless headphone spectrum. One is a robust, over-ear unit built for endurance and safety, while the other is a sleek, in-ear true wireless system engineered for audiophile-grade sound and crystal-clear voice transmission. The iClever BTH20 prioritizes physical comfort and longevity, offering nearly fifty hours of playback on a single charge. It is a heavy-duty tool designed to stay on your head for days without needing a plug. In contrast, the Moondrop Space Travel 2 focuses on acoustic precision and smart processing. Its unique planar magnetic driver and integrated Neuron Processor Unit (NPU) make it a superior choice for those who demand clarity in noisy environments, specifically targeting users looking for the best open ear earbuds for calls who refuse to compromise on audio fidelity.
• iClever BTH20: Offers massive 47.5-hour battery life and over-ear comfort but relies on older Bluetooth 5.4 and lacks the advanced AI voice processing of its competitor.
• Moondrop Space Travel 2: Delivers flagship-level sound via a patented planar driver and NPU-based call clarity but provides only 7 hours per charge and uses an in-ear design.
• Who should buy the iClever: Parents, travelers, and anyone who needs headphones that last all day without charging or prefer the isolation of an over-ear fit.
• Who should buy the Moondrop: Audiophiles, frequent callers in busy spaces, and tech enthusiasts who want the latest Bluetooth 6.0 features and lossless audio quality.
The iClever BTH20 is defined by its sheer endurance and physical form factor. With a stated average battery life of 47.5 hours, this device is built for scenarios where power outlets are scarce. Whether you are packing for a week-long trip, managing a long-haul flight, or simply want to forget about charging cables for weeks, the BTH20 delivers. It utilizes Active Noise Cancellation to create a quiet environment, though its primary strength lies in the over-ear enclosure made from Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) and soft leather-like materials. This design wraps around the ears rather than sitting inside them, which is a critical differentiator for users who find in-ear buds uncomfortable after an hour of wear.

This product is explicitly targeted at a wide age range, described as suitable for "Kid-Adults," and features a safe volume limit technology known as SafeSound Tech3.1. The 40-millimeter dynamic drivers provide a standard frequency range of 20Hz to 20,000Hz, ensuring that music sounds full and balanced without being overly aggressive. The inclusion of a detachable 3.5mm audio cable means you are never completely dependent on Bluetooth, allowing for wired listening if the battery ever runs dry or if you are using a non-Bluetooth source. The weight of 220 grams is substantial enough to feel secure and durable, yet light enough for extended use.
However, the BTH20 is not the ideal choice for someone prioritizing the highest possible voice clarity during phone conversations. While it includes Active Noise Cancellation, it does not feature the specialized Neural Processing Units found in more modern, compact earbuds. The Bluetooth 5.4 connection is reliable with a 10-meter range, but it lacks the ultra-low latency and advanced codec support of newer standards. If your primary goal is to be heard clearly while walking through a busy city street or working in a loud office, the BTH20 will do the job, but it may struggle with the same level of vocal isolation as a device designed specifically for AI-enhanced voice pickup. It is also worth noting that the control scheme relies on physical push buttons rather than touch interfaces, which some users might find less intuitive but offers tactile certainty in cold weather or when wearing gloves.
The Moondrop Space Travel 2 Ultra is a technical marvel designed for the discerning listener who treats their headphones as a primary audio interface. At its heart is a patented 13mm single-magnetic annular planar driver, a component usually reserved for much more expensive equipment. This driver uses imported CCAW ultra-thin coils and N55 magnets to achieve ultra-low distortion and exceptional high-frequency extension. For music lovers, this translates to imaging that is clear and timbre that feels natural and smooth. The device supports the LDAC high-definition lossless audio transmission protocol, capable of transmitting 24Bits/96kHz data. This capability ensures that the audio you hear is as close to the studio master as wireless technology currently allows, making it a top contender for those seeking the best voice assistant headphones for calls where background music and voice cues must be distinct.
What truly sets the Space Travel 2 apart is its focus on communication intelligence. It features a built-in Neuron Processor Unit (NPU) core paired with an AI Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) algorithm. Unlike traditional ENC methods that simply try to lower background noise, this system has been extensively trained to eliminate ambient sounds while simultaneously enhancing the clarity of vocal sounds. This makes it an excellent candidate for the user who spends significant time on conference calls, video meetings, or phone chats in noisy environments. The dual-device connectivity allows seamless switching between a laptop and a smartphone, managed through a companion app, which adds a layer of convenience for multitaskers.
Despite these advanced features, the Space Travel 2 comes with trade-offs typical of the in-ear form factor. The battery life averages 7 hours per charge, which is significantly less than the iClever's multi-day capacity. You will need to return to the charging case more frequently, especially if you are using the device for continuous work or long flights. The design is plastic and lightweight, weighing only 0.1 kg for the entire set including the case, which makes it highly portable but perhaps less rugged than the hard-shell construction of the over-ear iClever. Furthermore, the lack of a 3.5mm jack means you are entirely dependent on the wireless connection or the provided USB-C charging cable for power, leaving no option for wired audio output. It is designed strictly for adults and young adults, lacking the specific safety volume limits or child-friendly durability features of the BTH20.
• Best for battery life → iClever BTH20: With 47.5 hours of continuous play compared to 7 hours, the BTH20 wins decisively for marathon listening sessions.
• Best for audio fidelity → Moondrop Space Travel 2: The planar magnetic driver and LDAC support offer a level of detail and low distortion that dynamic drivers cannot match.
• Best for call clarity in noise → Moondrop Space Travel 2: The NPU-based AI ENC is specifically engineered to isolate voices better than standard ANC systems.
• Best for comfort over long periods → iClever BTH20: Over-ear cups prevent the ear fatigue common with in-ear buds, making it superior for all-day wear.
• Best for portability → Moondrop Space Travel 2: True wireless design fits easily in a pocket, whereas the BTH20 requires a bag or case.
• Best for wired backup options → iClever BTH20: Includes a detachable 3.5mm cable for non-wireless use; the Moondrop has no headphone jack.
• Best for gaming latency → Moondrop Space Travel 2: Features a dedicated game mode with 55ms low-latency signal transmission.
• Best for children or sensitive ears → iClever BTH20: Designed with SafeSound Tech and age-appropriate volume limiting for younger users.
After weighing the specifications and intended use cases, I would choose the Moondrop Space Travel 2 for my daily commute and work-from-home setup. The reason is simple: the integration of the NPU and AI-driven ENC makes it the most effective best open ear headphones for calls on the market today. When I am on a video conference in a coffee shop or a busy home office, the ability to suppress background noise while keeping my voice crisp is invaluable. The planar magnetic driver also ensures that when I switch back to music, I am getting a premium listening experience that far exceeds standard dynamic drivers. While the battery life is shorter, the 7-hour window covers a standard workday, and the convenience of true wireless freedom outweighs the need for constant charging. If you prioritize clear communication and high-quality sound above all else, this is the device to get.
While "open ear" often refers to bone conduction, the Moondrop Space Travel 2 is an in-ear bud with industry-leading AI noise cancellation specifically optimized for call clarity, making it a top choice for vocal performance.
The iClever BTH20 offers roughly 47.5 hours of playback, whereas the Moondrop Space Travel 2 provides about 7 hours per charge, making the iClever far superior for long trips without access to power.
Value depends on your needs; the iClever offers more raw battery and durability for general use, while the Moondrop justifies its cost through advanced audio codecs and AI call processing. Check the current price on Amazon to see which fits your budget.
Yes, it supports Bluetooth 5.4 and wired connections, but it lacks the specific low-latency game mode found in the Moondrop, which drops delay to 55ms for competitive gaming.
