If you want robust, all-day battery life with a secure over-ear fit for long study sessions or travel on a computer, choose iClever BTH18; if you need flexible volume switching and dual-device sharing for active kids in school or the car, choose JLab.
• iClever BTH18: Delivers an impressive 43-hour battery life and features a premium over-ear design with plush cushions for extended comfort, though it lacks the unique dual-pairing capability found in its competitor. This pick is best for parents seeking a durable, long-lasting headphone for quiet focus time or long-haul travel.
• JLab JBuddies Studio 2: Offers an exceptional 65-hour playtime and includes a Share Wireless mode to connect two headphones to one source, but uses an on-ear design that may be less isolating than over-ear models. This pick is ideal for families needing a versatile device for classroom use, car rides, or shared movie watching.
The iClever BTH18 is engineered specifically for children who need a reliable audio companion that won't quit when they need it most. Its standout feature is the massive 43-hour battery life, which means you can power through a full week of music, audiobooks, or video streaming without hunting for a charger. Whether your child is listening to podcasts during a long road trip or studying for hours at their computer, this battery capacity removes the anxiety of sudden silence. The Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity ensures a stable connection up to 33 feet away, making it perfect for a bedroom setup where a tablet sits on a desk while the child moves around.
Comfort is a major priority for this model, especially since it is designed for "hours of wear." The over-ear ear cups are equipped with soft faux leather cushions that rotate 90 degrees to fit snugly against the head. This design choice provides better passive noise cancellation compared to on-ear alternatives, creating a more immersive experience for kids who need to block out distractions. The headband and ear pads are built from durable ABS plastic and soft materials, ensuring the headphones can withstand the rigors of daily use by active toddlers and grade-schoolers alike.

You should buy the iClever BTH18 if your primary goal is finding the best open ear headphones for computer usage (or closed-back equivalent for focus) that prioritizes comfort and endurance. It is particularly well-suited for younger children or those who wear headphones for long stretches, as the over-ear design prevents the pressure points often associated with on-ear models. However, if you need a headphone that can instantly pair with another device for a friend to listen to simultaneously, or if your child prefers the lighter, less enclosing feel of on-ear designs, this might not be the perfect fit.
The JLab JBuddies Studio 2 takes a different approach, focusing on versatility and social sharing. Its most distinct feature is the Share Wireless mode, which allows two pairs of these headphones to connect to a single device simultaneously. This is a game-changer for siblings traveling together in a car or sitting side-by-side at a computer to watch a movie. Instead of fighting over one pair, both kids can enjoy the same audio feed with zero lag, thanks to the dedicated wireless technology. This makes it an excellent choice for families who value shared experiences and practical solutions for multiple users.
In terms of comfort and build, JLab utilizes Cloud Foam Comfort Cushions on both the ear cups and the headband. These are designed to be feather-light, reducing fatigue during long periods of wear. The on-ear placement keeps the device compact and portable, folding flat into the palm of a hand for easy storage in a backpack. The controls are strategically placed on the bottom left earcup, accessible even for smaller hands, allowing kids to manage playback and volume independently. With a staggering 65-hour battery life, these headphones can last nearly two weeks of average use before needing a recharge via the USB-C port.
This product is the superior choice if you are looking for open ear headphones for computer setups that require frequent sharing between friends or siblings. It is also the better option for older kids, ages 6 to 16, who appreciate a modern, contemporary look and the ability to switch volume limits between safe listening (85 dB) and louder environments (95 dB). While the on-ear design offers great portability, parents of very young children who need maximum isolation might find the over-ear style of the iClever more effective for blocking out background noise. If your child needs a lightweight, foldable solution for school or travel that supports multi-user scenarios, JLab delivers exactly that.
• Best for battery life → JLab: At 65 hours, the JLab JBuddies Studio 2 outlasts the iClever BTH18's 43 hours, making it unbeatable for long-term, uninterrupted use.
• Best for comfort and isolation → iClever BTH18: The over-ear design with deep cushioning offers better passive noise reduction and a more secure fit for sensitive ears compared to the on-ear JLab model.

• Best for stability and range → iClever BTH18: Equipped with Bluetooth 5.3, it offers a slightly more advanced connection standard and a robust 33-foot range for seamless streaming.
• Best for younger toddlers → iClever BTH18: The over-ear cup design is generally preferred for very young children to ensure a proper seal and safety, whereas JLab targets grades 6-16.
• Best for portability → JLab: The foldable, on-ear design is extremely compact and fits easily into small pockets or bags, whereas the over-ear iClever is bulkier.
• Best for volume flexibility → JLab: Features a unique switch between 85 dB and 95 dB limits, offering more adaptability for different listening environments.
• Best for detailed audio control → iClever BTH18: Includes specific buttons for light modes and volume toggles, providing a tactile interface that some users prefer over touch-only controls.
After weighing the specs and real-world applications, I would personally buy the iClever BTH18 if my main requirement was finding the best bluetooth headphones for computer use for a single child. The combination of the over-ear design, 43-hour battery, and SafeSound technology creates a focused, comfortable environment that is hard to beat for study or media consumption. The physical build feels substantial, and the passive noise isolation is a significant advantage for keeping distractions at bay. However, if I had two kids who needed to share a screen, the JLab would immediately take the spot due to its unique sharing capabilities. For a single user who values comfort and endurance above all else, the iClever BTH18 is the clear winner.
Yes, both models support Bluetooth connectivity suitable for computers, tablets, and Chromebooks. The iClever BTH18 is often cited as a top choice for open ear headphones for computer tasks due to its over-ear comfort during long sessions, while the JLab offers a lightweight alternative for quick access.
The JLab JBuddies Studio 2 holds the lead with an average life of 65 hours, compared to the iClever BTH18's 43 hours. This makes JLab ideal for users who charge less frequently or go on extended trips without access to power.
Only the JLab JBuddies Studio 2 features Share Wireless mode, which allows two pairs of headphones to connect to one source simultaneously. The iClever BTH18 is designed for a single-user experience.
While I cannot list current prices, the JLab's additional 22 hours of battery and sharing feature often justify its cost for families with multiple children. Conversely, the iClever's superior over-ear comfort and Bluetooth 5.3 make it a strong value for individual users prioritizing audio immersion.
