An Abridged History

Towards the end of 5117, unbeknownst to everyone at the time, then Mayor of Icemule, Nihala Winterberry, had come across a strange arcane tome locked away in Clovertooth Hall. She studied this tome until it led to her mysterious sickness. Deputy Mayor Hibbits Hoft then took over the day-to-day management of Icemule.

Efforts were made to diagnose and heal Mayor Nihala's illness, but to no avail. A citizen's attempt to read the tome was unsuccessful. Mayor Hibbits began acting suspiciously, and cries on the wind called for Hibbits, while figures moved in the shadows. Icemule was being invaded by all manner of creatures, nearly decimating our small, but fierce, group of protectors.

At the same time, an unknown group claiming to be the Far Market, arrived in Icemule. Word reached the townspeople that the Mayor had fallen, and rescuers were immediately dispatched to her cottage. As recovery efforts were made to revive Mayor Nihala, members of the Far Market stepped from the shadows. The leader of the Far Market explained there was a bounty and they were to retrieve the tome for their mysterious client. The leader gave Icemule days to decide if they were going to cooperate.

Because Icemule was struggling with their efforts to keep invasive creatures at bay, Deputy Mayor Hibbits formed a group of random citizens and non-citizens to help organize rescue efforts, as well as rebuild some of the damaged buildings around Icemule. He proclaimed it would be called ICICLE, which originally stood for the Icemulian Collective for the Improvement of Civilian Life, Etc.

The original founding members were Laralana, Arnylon, Arshwikk, Brokkrsten, Selaesia, Joness, Jalodg, Woulfgar, Brewyte and Dirvy. Later when Woulfgar and Brewyte stepped down, Enestrie and Zailon joined their ranks.

During their first official meeting, the group voted for Dirvy as the Chairperson, and plans were discussed for training and organizational needs. In the first year of ICICLE's formation, they were able to clear some land for a citizen's tent, renovated Flashfeet's Fine Fashions store and stocked it with some newer inventory, cleared a space for snowman building, and expanded Clovertooth Hall, prior to its fire and renovation.

Further projects were planned, including the citizen's lounge in Clovertooth Hall, a museum, a greenhouse that would be on the trail from Wehnimer's Landing to Icemule, a renovation of Wurt's Amulets, the implementation of an alarm and defense system for Icemule, and an embassy. But after Mayor Nihala's death, a new mayor took her place and renovation efforts were stopped shortly after.

Unable to fulfill their original purpose, ICICLE gravitated towards a new function, vowing to make Icemule the gaming and entertainment capital of Elanthia, that the founding Paradis halflings once hoped it would become. Because of this, ICICLE changed their name to the Icemulian Collective for the Improvement of Civilian Life and Entertainment. In this current function, they are able to offer the citizens and visitors of Icemule almost every type of gambling imaginable.
