Imagination, Creativity, Intelligence

Imagination and creativity often go together, but are they the same? If imagination is based on images, do we need it to create a melody?

There is a traditional opposition between art and science, in particular as academic fields. It seems important to overcome this dichotomy, considering that art can be developed using science and technology (in particular artificial intelligence), and that science is creative and makes extensive use of images.

Human beings have been characterized since the antiquity as logical (rational) animals. Their capacity of reasoning allows them to understand the world  and to transform it.  Their intelligence makes things intelligible.  To what extent does intelligence depend on imagination and how creative is it?

This interdisciplinary event addresses all these questions.
