Advancing Entrepreneurship and SMEs: Challenges and Ways Forward

The International Conference on Entrepreneurship and Small Business (ICES) 2020 is the first international conference organised by Entrepreneurship Research and Development Centre (ERDEC), Universiti Malaysia Sabah. It will be held on 25-26 November 2020 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The conference aims to bring together academics and researchers from all over the world to share their knowledge, research results and experiences about various areas in entrepreneurship and small business.

Today’s business environment has been characterised by rapid changes in all aspects of business systems. One critical effect of these changes is that entrepreneurs or small business owners have to find the best way to handle every single challenge that they encounter. The need to embrace change becomes crucial not only to entrepreneurs and small business owners, but also to academics and professionals from multi disciplines. In this respect, both academic and practitioners should be given a chance to share their thoughts and experiences about the latest academic research and theories on enterprise and small business, thus reducing the divide between academic and business environment. In line with the conference theme, “Advancing Entrepreneurship and SMEs: Challenges and Ways Forward”, this conference will provide an excellent opportunity to discuss and debate the current issues faced by entrepreneurs and small business owners and to identify areas that are key to advancing entrepreneurship.
